Carfax didn't help me one bit. I got a report on a used truck I bought which had been wrecked and repaired. Carfax didn't report it because it wasn't reported to the police or insurance companies. So much for their buyback guarantee.

Well when I entered my VIN on the Carfax webpage, it says that there are 16 reports on my vehicle. Is this just a tactic used so you'll buy the carfax?

If you are in the market for a used vehicle, then spent the $20 and get a carfax account. What is $20 Vs the cost of buying a lemon.
You can also ask here for an Oasis report if one is avalible for the ford you are thinking about buying.

Your crazy if you trust Carfax, just a warning. My 1991 Ranger was totalled in 1997 and DID NOT show up in a Carfax report back then or 2 years ago.

Carfax is a gimmick, it’s a business to make money by making you “feel” better. There is no law or regulation telling anybody they have to report anything to Carfax but they have people believing that if they check Carfax and the vehicle your checking comes back clean that your good to go.

Just send me $20 and I will tell you what you need to know. Ok, this is a one time discount:

If you really want to know if the vehicle your about to purchase is any good take it to a mechanic you trust and have it looked over…

Otherwise, suck it up, you have to pay to play…

I ain't Carfax, but...

I tried helping by giving you information that generally isn't available to the public and normally isn't available to people buying used vehicles with no service histories from the previous owner(s).

Spend the $20.
