Talking I finally bought a camera

After Inbred recommended the canon A75, I could not get one because they discontinued it. I bought the Canon Powershot A510. It is a nice camera and very light and small, about the size of a cigarette pack. As soon as the batteries charge and the snow clears up I will go out and take some pics. With so many cameras on the market and me not knowing nothing about them, I appreciate the input in the thread I posted asking for help on them.

When I get some pics someone will have to make me a cool signature.

Hey Lees, you going to the car/boat show this week or the outdoors show the next? I'm definately heading to the outdoors show, not sure about the car/boat show yet. Such things usually cost me way too much money to go to. Parking and admission is nothing compared to all the junk I end up buying inside...

Hey 05FXfour -

Nice pic.

That's the digital Rebel, yes?

Which lens you use for that shot?

I got myself a Canon A75 like Inbred's, love it! Works like a charm in the cold, too. Post some more pics of your truck, looks nice (even with the muck)!

Yes it is the Drebel an I used the Canon 70-200 f/4L lens for that shot.

You got that much CA from that lens? Seems a little excess for L glass. Any filters involved?

what other lenses you got in your inventory?

CA = Chromatic Abberation. It is the red/blue fringing you see on the edge of the gull. One half of the image will be red fringed, the other half will be violet fringed. It's a result of the prism effect you get anytime light is bent by glass. L lenses have exotic glasses designed to prevent this. A white object will be especially prone to show CA, I just wouldn't expect that much from that lens.

If you ever decide to expand your collection, give me a yell, I can give you the heads up on just about any EOS mount lens you'd want to buy, be it canon or third party.

Not sure of your level of expertise (if you'd even need the features), but if you're interested, you can upload hacked firmware to your body and get some of the features from the 10d that the 300d (dRebel) doesn't have. The 300d is basically the same camera as the old 10d, (a 10d is my backup body), only with many features turned off. Most are there, the firmware just doesn't let you use them.

Chromatic Abberation--Right edge red, left edge violet:
