Don't panic! Most trucks faired poorly in the offset test results. Even some of the new 04 and 05 models faired poorly. I wouldn't loose sleep over it. I would loose sleep doing more important things such as rubbing and squeezing skin.

I do not believe their claim that most accidents involve only one vehicle. Perhaps if they include every parking lot scratch and scrape. But in accidents where vehicles have to be towed away, there's usually more than one car involved. And in that situation, the bigger truck will win over the tiny mini-car. JMHO.
if you look around, they show you how the wrecked the truck.... it was into the side of a short wall, and only the driver corner was hit...... to me, the mini looks like it had a nice parallel hit, and possible could have even been going slower... because the entire front clip is damaged on the mini, but the truck, if you noticed, everything crumpled in a way as to suggest that it hit, and then twisted to the right... i personally think that is some bogus info...
look for yourself
does that look like a 100% head on collision with a real "wall"? across the bumper and parallel with it? no..... not to me..

Well those stats are bogus the way they are presented.
Sure there are more deaths in the F150s, but there are a buttload more F150s out there than mini coopers. Also notice that the F150 had more "other deaths" than "driver deaths", which to me means that it did a better job of protecting the driver of the truck (not that Im saying its a good thing other people died or anything, but as far as the owner is concerned it is).

That article is true.
The F150 is kinda weak. I plowed into one of Raoul's goats in my first Lightning. L was totaled, but the goat walked away without so much as a limp.
(Don't tell Raoul)

Well yeah, if you remember the insurance crash tests done I think 3 years or so ago (saw on TV) the F150 got the lowest rank of one star out of a possible of 5. Got beat out by Toyota, Dodge, and Chevy all together. I knew all this when I got mine, but I'd rather have a better looking, better performing, and better all around great truck.

I guess I don't believe what I am seeing, or don't care. If somehow someone was able to make me drive into a wall at 40 mph, but I had a choice of an F-150 or a mini-cooper to do it in, I would still take the F-150 (and something [common sense] tells me it would be the right choice).

don't get me started.
