This winter thing is getting old...
.... oh, wait, it already did... the second it snowed this year.
I'm still adjusting to my move up to Pittsburgh. The fall wasnt too bad, and that little bit of snow the end of November and before Christmas wasn't terrible.
BUT…. Right now it is somewhere below 10 degrees, and the windchill is taking it down to –15 or so. It snowed about 3 inches over the weekend, and more is on the way. I got up this morning, and it was 4 degrees. It went from 70 to 18 over night last week!
Can’t you tell this is my first “real” winter ever?
Moving back to Florida is looking awful nice right about now.
I hate scraping ice. I hate driving in the snow. I hate working in the snow. I don’t mind the cold… so long that it isn’t windy—which is pretty damn near impossible in this city.
I’m seriously considering putting remote start on my truck, because I really hate driving with a gigantic coat and gloves on… while the windshield is all fogged up.
The windshield wiper fluid squirters don’t work anymore… is this a bad thing?
Sometimes the truck takes a little bit to finally turn over and start up, is that bad too?
I went screwing around in the snow over the weekend—admittedly, it was fun, but I was pretty nervous about spinning into a light pole or some huge ditch that I cant see. I’m still not confident driving right now....
Oh well... I suppose I'm done bitching for now...
I miss Miami.

We had a frost warning last night here in Orlando. You remember how big of a deal they make on the news when there's a chance of frost here? Well, it was in the 50's by 10AM and I was stripped down to a T shirt and jeans by noon while I worked. Supposed to warm up in the next couple days.
welcome to cold weather....
Driving is the most fun you can have in the snow, its great! I dont think that your truck making groans, etc when it starts, mine does the same thing when it drops below about 20 outside. Im tired of this "Its going to be 9 degrees today with a wind chill of -4 today"--- I hate it!! Looking forward to a nice balmy summer in Mississippi....

catch22
At least here in pa we've had a very mild winter so far this year.
I love the way my red truck has a nice white powdery look now due to all the road salt.
As far as the washer fluid not working, you need to get a winter formular. try and use all the old and then fill it.

Make sure the washer fluid is full with good anti - freeze washer fluid. I had it in mine but when it got low it froze up. maybe it just wasnt good enough to handle the cold. Anyway I filled it up and it hasnt been a problem since. Its 10 degrees here right now. For whatever reason, these trucks dont like to start properly in the cold. I started mine tonight after work and it made a few weird noises, the engine jumped around a little and then it started right up and was fine. It did the same thing last winter so im not worried about it.
Pittsburgh huh..Ive been trying to get ahold of an old friend of mine whos from there.

Well, we have 2 feet of snow on the ground and they are saying it is supposed to warm up and rain! Won't that be fun!
It does take some getting used to but driving in the snow can be a blast! Scraping ice is a pain, when I had to park my truck outside at night I put a space heater inside on low overnight, helps keep things thawed! My husband has a cover he puts on his windshield at night so the ice and snow stay off. Be sure your window is dry if you do this otherwise it could freeze in place and you won't be able to go anywhere! And get a block heater for your truck so you can plug it in at night, saves lots of warm-up time in the morning! It would also help with the sluggish starts.
Good luck! Winter doesn't last forever!!
