Horse Pulling...

Anybody ever watch horse pulling contests? Got addicted to them last year, and just got done watching this year's contest at the PA farm show. I'm not much of a horse fan, but the horses they use are freakin amazing. some of the heavyweights weigh over 5000 lbs for 2 horses. The condition of these horses is just mind blowing. Some of them have to be pushing 9-10 feet tall at the top of their heads and are over a ton of pure muscle. Some folks may think it's 'cruel' making the horses work so hard, but to watch it, the horses love to do it. It's a challenge getting them hooked to the load without them dragging 4 handlers away. Just amazing animals...

This picture isn't from the Farm Show, but it's a good representation of the sheer size of these animals:

That is the coolest thing ever!! I love to go to the fairs with my girl friend and watch the horse pull contest!! My god those animals are strong!!

I'm from a small town where there are a bunch of farmers that enter in their horses and they amazing to watch. Cyldesdales are very big powerful animals.

A big Belgian will toast a Clydesdale any day of the week! (unless they're pulling beer)
