tsunami video (s)

Please do not take this the wrong way, I am not interested in seeing folks killed or whatever.

I have for some time saved videos of natural disasters, whether they be tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, avalanches or whatever.
Just an interest in the awesome forces of nature.

All I have seen on the news videos do not really show the tsunami wave(s) themselves but pretty much merely the after effects. Sorry, there were a couple taken from a hotel bar that showed a little bit but not the thirty foot high surges I keep reading about.

I know a lot of members here do a lot of surfing of very interesting sites that I know nothing about. Just wondering if you can provide any links to good vids of the waves.

Thanks,
Bill

Morbidly, I was wanting to see the same thing.

I think the people that video taped it, didn't live to show it to anyone- and if they did survive, the camera was ruined....

Amazing that something so cataclysmic in nature, wasn't captured on video.

What's ironic was all the people that died from curiosity. They said when the ocean pulled back to sea (Up to a mile back) -The universal sign that you need to haul ****- many people ran INTO the sea bed because all sorts of treasure was uncovered, including sunken ships, etc.. Only to get trapped on a muddy sea bed by 32' high waves moving in at 40 MPH. (Twice as fast as any man can run)

One family and those around them survived because the little girl had just done a book report on Tsunami's, and when she saw the ocean pull back, she said "A Tsunami is coming"; unbelievably- peopel listened and those around her all ran to safety before the waves could come in.

Ironically, they said the first wave may have been 12-20 feet high, but it was the 2nd & 3rd waves that did the most damage.

There is one thing worse than a Tsunami; that a Mega-Tsunami; that hit Alaska in 1958. Waves were 1,500 feet tall; caused by a landslide.

No exaggeration; 1,500 feet.....

I have some saved on my hard drive, but I don't have a server to host them.

That site must be overloaded. I clicked on the first video 10 minutes ago and it's only 10% buffered so far (hi speed DSL line).

I won't post a link because there are some pictures over there unacceptable for family viewing, but Consumption Junction has been posting some fairly disturbing pictures of the aftermath in the last week or so. Be aware that if you start poking around over there, you will most likely find something to offend you or gross you out. It is NOT family or work friendly. I'd also make sure your computer is well protected before venturing in, and DON'T click on any ads or popups!

This vid was one of the latest vids shown on the news here.
Just take a look at the force of the water entering that city.
