Thumbs up made it out after all

ok,

hows tis for a tough weekend. on wed. nite we got 3-5" of snow, that turned into freezing rain, so when i left for work at 430 in the morning on thurs. , it was so bad that i turned around and went home. at 1130 the lights startede to flicker, and at 1230 they went out completely. at 430 the propane fireplace went dead, check tank at 70% full. at 715 they came back on and went out at 800 they came on for 15 minutes sometime after 100am on fri, now the house is starting to get cold. now i wake up to the fireplace man at 830am, he gets it up and running, so now we have heat, in the living room. go to get the paper and get as far as the driveway which is blocked by a 50ft birch. go out the back drivway (where my truck is ), and a 75 ft birch is blocking that one. we break out the chainsaws and get out of the house . get drunk on sat at my neighbors(uncle) house(fell of wagon)after he buys generator. next day we buy one and at least get the freezers and the t.v.<------ very important!!, and we even had cable. watched tv and wated for the electrtic to come on. finally came on today at 630pm.

sounds like fun huh

btw the power controls the well, the heater(summer winter hookup) so there was no showers for 5 days...got my shower at 700 and it was the best one i ever hadthank God for the coleman stove and coffee pot.

hope your weekend was better than mine

Lawn?? What lawn? Ours has been covered with 4" of snow for the last 2 weeks or so and about 6" more this morning!

Schoolbus, sounds like quite the adventure. We had a few days similar to that last year, minus the downed trees. Glad your truck didn't get hit with one.
