Post want to take a stab....

No, not at me. At my computer, and hotmal.com.

Ok, so the last couple of days I've been getting these ActiveX banners and what not, well now today for the last couple of hours it will log into hotmail, but when it does that redirecting thing, it stops. I get a blank page! WTF! I've changed no settings on my computer. Any help folks?

Hell, I'll just probably roll back my computer.

Clean up the viruses and spyware you picked up when you were surfing the **** sites. Then it will act normally again.

Download Spybot Search and Destroy. Good for getting rid of spyware.

Joe, lately hotmail has been doing the same thing for me. It will act like it's going to my inbox and it will be a blank blue page. Or, if it goes to my home page, it'll say I got a new e-mail, and if I click on it, nothing happens. I have to sometimes click on Inbox instead.

I guess this means it's possible to pick up a virus on the Chippendales site too.

Slightly off topic, but:

I've gone through tons of popup blocker/spyware programs in the last couple of years, and couldn't find one that worked very well. Finally came upon STOPzilla. Demo only lasted for a couple weeks, but then it was $30 I was more than happy to pay. Some of the best cash I ever spent. Can't recommend it enough... Works every time, all the time.

We recommend both Ad Aware & Spy Bot to all our customers where I work...

Get them for free here: www.download.com
There's a reason why they are #1 & #2 on the top 5 download list.

download & run both of them...

Tried them both, weren't worth a darn. Personally, it seemed as if they did more harm than good.

Any anti spyware/popup programs that use spyware/popups to advertise themselves will never get a click from my browser...

I'll give you the same level of outstanding customer service I give to all my users:

Reboot.

Didn't work?

Reboot until it does.

Did you install SP2? Any other changes made to your PC? Quick troublshooting tip is to right click on your IE desktop icon, Internet properties, then the programs tab. Click on 'Reset Web Settings'. Open IE and try again.

Ad Aware & Spy Bot have no spyware/popups built into them.. Looks like you had other issues..

I may be wrong but...

I thought one of the Ad Aware execs. got into trouble for Spyware to sell the product. Specifcally for trial versions that put spyware onto your computer. Something along those lines.

Please correct me if I'm wrong....

Cslicker-
I will correct you. You are wrong. You must be thinking of another product. Ad Aware has a stellar reputation. So does SpyBot. I spent about a week researching Ad-Aware before installing it on my computer. I found lots of dishonorable companies with lots of questionable products, but Ad-Aware wasn't one of them. Every bit of info I found on Ad-Aware was impressive and positive.

Cslicker, you may be confusing Ad-Aware and Ad-Ware. I have seen both out there, but have always heard good things about Ad-Aware.

I personally don't use it. I run Norton Internet Security 2005 and it is works great for my comp. Never any problems. It is floating around the net somewhere.
