There was no advanced nothing and just a normal GAS engine no electric nothing... You would think thay would ahve been way further along.... My brain itches from this.... I think i will try to find one of these again and drive it.....
I was wondering about that too... there's a couple things to me that pop to mind... the CRX was -much- lighter then this car, and much smaller....you probably also had the manual tranny, this is an automatic....

LIBC150 : They have an Escape Hybrid (the SUV), and rumors of a Ranger one in the works.

your answer to why we dont have better mpg is big oil. Lots of money to be lost out on if lots of people are gettin 50mpg. Cant really raise the price to 6bux a gallon cuz there would be too many people that dont own a economy car. So lets keep everything inefficient and make money.

Actually the answer is us. We buy large vehicles that need to be pushed, pulled by something. Take a look a jet airliners. The airlines would LOVE to be able to buy a plane that got more MPG of jet fuel, but the technology just isnt there yet. You still have to get that 100,000 # pig off the ground somehow.

What's your point???. 900lb difference big deal. I drove this small lightweight beauty and got 500-575 miles to the gallon.Cost like 11 bucks to fill it.Your missing the point here.
With all that technology that toy should get no less than 100 mpg. got milk??.

When you consider the differences in weight (1177 #'s), the transmission (automatic vs. standard), # of passengers and the level of comfort and safety offered, the fact that it gets better city mileage than highway mileage (where the majority of folks spend their time driving) by comparison the new car DOES get around 100 MPG.

That is too funny... Just got it and already planning his mod list !!!

What's the warranty on the batteries ? Is there a special fee for disposal when it is time to replace ?

Cool car !!

Battery is 7yr/100k included with the car.

Yeah, this car has a heck of alot more "creature comforts" then any CRX did and can fit FOUR full size adults... I can sit in any seat (I'm 6'3" 240lbs) and I am not squished at all, plus the hatch space. CRX backseat is a joke. The car is taller, wider and longer then a CRX.

This thing does practically turn into a balloon when it gets hit. There are 8 airbags in it, lol.

I love the power button too.
