air compressor

Just picked up an air compressor today! Its a 26 gallon that puts out 8.4 @ 40 and 7.3 @ 90. Any suggestions on air tools to start out with?

What do you need and/ or use? For my needs just an air nozzle is what I use 90% of the time (cleaning equipment/ blowing out air filters, etc).

Wish list in order of importance:
Impact wrench
air chisel
air ratchet
air jack

many people like paint sprayers, etc. but body work isn't my bag. I had a nice paint sprayer once that I inherited from my grandfather but I never even knew how to use it. Ended up giving it away. I won't kid myself into believing that I might ever do any bodywork or painting.

I was thinking along the lines of either a ratchet or impact gun. Sorry I didn't specify. What do you find saves the most time?

Get a 3/8 drive hand Impact, that's the best around tool to have in your air tools. The big Impact is good for the wheels and big stuff, the 3/8 drive you will use more on everything else. It's small for the hard too get bolts and nuts.

just remeber that a cheap tool is a cheap tool.

i bought a low price Craftsman impact gun to use to change tires and rims and the thing wont do it. nothing wrong with craftman, just buy a nice one.

i have 3 nail guns and when i use them, they rock , just remember to keep you fingers away, my wifes uncle shot a 2.5" ring nail thru 2 fingers.

IMHO

All the usual tools.....1/2" impact, 3/8" rachet are must haves but the one that impressed me most was the drill. You can NOT bog it down! Drilling in wood with it is like drilling into butter!

In order of importance to me:

1. Torque wrench
2. 1/2" air impact
3. 3/8" air ratchet
4. Air die grinder
5. Air drill ( your choice of size)

Use the air impact for removal only, then tighten down with a torque wrench especially for wheels.
