Shakes? Anyone heard of them?

There is this new little drive thru place down the road from me that just opened that is called Shakes. It's the first one of its kind around here. It just opened up on Monday of this week so I have not gotten by to try them out. Has anyone ever heard of them and know what they offer and if they are any good? One of the signs says "since 1950" or close to that, but I have never heard of them. I noticed they were not real busy yet mainly because they opened a few days before Christmas and nobody really knows anything about them.

Anyone know anything about them?

What part of North Florida are you in? My brother lives north of Gainesville, in HIgh Springs. They have a WATTABURGER near them, never heard of them.

The only place I've heard of like that is Steak and Shake

The only 'shakes' I know of are the ones I have in the morning.

We've got a couple around here. One used to be called "Shakey's" then it changed to Shake's. I think there's still two left. The one that used to be Shakey's was dozed, and they're just about to open an "Andy's"...

BTW, they're all frozen custard, and all very good!

Oh Man, you got me drooling for a Wattacheese and a cherry lemon sundrop!!! Nearest one is 45 miles away, sounds like a road trip for the SCrew.

Hah, Whataburger is like a staple here in Texas. They are pretty good, way better than mc d's anyway. The onion rings are awesome!

I live in Jacksonville. We have at least 4 Whataburgers that have opened within the last 9 months here in town. I've only had them once or twice and they were pretty good.

As for Shakes, I tried it today and they were awesome. Seeing as how it was in the mid 70's here today, it really hit the spot. I just got a chocolate milkshake and it was delicious. A little expensive for a milkshake, but very good. Funny thing is they just opened this Monday which happened to be our coldest day of the year where it barely hit 40 degrees for the high. when it hits summer time here, I think that will be my new place to go

Thumbs up

Whataburger makes McDonalds look sick by comparison. Shoot, anything makes McDonalds look sick, lol. Try out Whataburger, you won't regret it. I remember all the Shakey's around Houston were Pizza places? Never heard of Shakes? Shakey's has been gone from Houston for quite a while, but I did see one up in the midwest somewhere?,,,,98

Anytime you guys come through NC, stop at a "Cook-Out" for a milk-shake. Best I've ever had. Good burgers and dogs, too. I saw a lot of What-a-Burger's in east Texas when I lived in LA. Not bad.

PS. Steak and Shake sucks!

Smile

I'm in Tampa right now, and there's a Hardee's a block down the road. They make one of the best fast food burgers I've ever tasted. Angus Thickburger I believe is the item. Has angus patties, and bacon strips. I'm not sure if the whole chain is that good or what, but I seem to find myself eating one every other day, lol. I know, not healthy, but you only live once. I think the exact same chain is in the West, and is called Carl's Junior, or something. Exact same logo and packaging, but the name is different.,,,,98

Whataburger was founded in Corpus Christi, Texas and the are one of the best fast food place in Texas right now. Expanding like mad!

I heard Shakes is owned and run by a terrorist organization from Afghanistan. They are adding chemicals to all their products that will render all men sterile and grow extremely long chin whiskers...
It also causes you to have a fondness for camels and large goats...Go figure....

Arby's Beef & cheddar =

As for 'Shakes', they suck. I get them every once in a while when my pain meds wear off...

The afghani's are more likely to add Opium to their products to get you hooked on them (rather than chemicals to sterilize you)
