Bombing our bases

With the bombing of our US base yesterday i am ill. My son is on that base and i know nothing about his safety. I am so pissed right now and scared for him. How and i mean HOW can this happen, i know it is war but dam you would think that a base would have at least some security at the very least while our sons and daughters are eating and trying to relax.....

I can only hope he is well. we have no word as of yet.

I hope you here good news soon. I cant even imagin wht your going through.

I wish Rumsfield would get off his rear end and give our troops the supplies and orders they need to finish this crap.

We will say an extra prayer for your son and your family tonight.

i am an army vet and every time another soldier is killed or wounded it tears me up.

what i wonder is where all the outrage is towards the insurgents from the american people. they show some pictures of iraqi prisoners with underwear on their heads and all the do gooder american liberals go crazy demanding our soldiers heads on a platter. rockets into a mess tent is not abuse it's murder.

something is wrong here.

glad to hear your son is safe.

now we need to get the media out of there and let our guys kick *** and come home.

I'm currently in the Air Force and I agree with you there. I think that the day we get the media out of our faces in the war zone is the same day hell will freeze over.

Buckdropper--that's good to hear. That would have been one rotten year all in a couple of weeks.

worthirt_99 and projetmech--I think the additude goes back to the idea that none of htis would be happening if we went the way of the French. And those who beleive that are correct, our military men and women would not be the targets in Iraq. Instead the American people would be the targets in America, and the military people would be the targets in Saudi and Qutar.

Say what you want but the last years of Cllinton this country was being hit every other year. It's been three years since this country has been attacked.

Dropper, I too am glad to hear your boy is unharmed, and my prayers go out to the families of the ones lost in this attack.

What really got to me watching the reports was all the stories about how the military failed again when no one even knows exactly how this happened.
Just keep saying its another blow to our troops as if they are loosing this thing.
Just once I would like the media to say this is why we need to start kicken some serious butt, not look our boys are shooting unarmed ? enemies.

Again Dropper glad to hear your boy is safe and you should be proud of the job he is doing,, I know I am..

Sled...

Soliders being disciplined for salvaging parts to repair their truck..
Soliders being Court Martialed for murder in a war zone?
Seals being Court Martialed for interrigation practices?
What the He!! is going on here??
Buckdropper I am glad your son is okay, but I am really p!ssed with what I know he is putting up with. If the bleeding liberal SOB's that are behind all the BS charges had to be there, which they wouldn't because they are all spineless B@stards, I wonder how they would react??
You can NOT go into a Country to do battle and let the members of its Military lay down their arms and blend into the populous from which they will later emerge and do you harm. These tactics did not work in Viet Nam, and it is apparant they did not work in Iraq. Enough is enough, if you hurt someone, hurt them so badly that you never have to fear their reprisals......
I spent multiple tours in Viet Nam and know first hand what it is like to not to be able to fulfill your mission do to those who worry about what the folks back home and the rest of the world would think if you did.
I respect your sons courage to serve his Country and wish he and his brothers and sisters in arms a safe and speedy return home.
Do not expect the same boy to return home as he has become a man and has experienced the rath of War. Listen to him, try to understand him, respect him, and most of all embrace him.
Marc

I too am glad your son is safe buck, I've been thinking of you all day.

I was watching some regular 'town folk' read some well wishes on CNN today in front of some new memmorial they are bulding.

One of the guys quoted some famous Generals words and it really choked me up.

It went something like

"What more can a man do than give up his life for another?"

I personally have a strong affection for America, and think of her like a favorite cousin. It fills me with sadness everytime I hear about your soldiers getting killed.

You know that frustrated feeling you get when you want to help your friend, but there's nothing you can do?

Will we ever get out of the dark ages? Terrorist aholes have to ruin everything.

I'm very happy to hear that your son escaped unharmed, I truly wish I could say the same to the parents of the ones who did not make it. How sad to be confronted with that devastating news especially this time of year, when people are supposed to be joyful and at peace. They will forever remember the Holidays as a time of sadness. It is unfortunate that these things have to happen and I pray for the men and women who bravely face the dangers day after day. May God be with them and their families.

Peace on earth, good will toward men.
