I recently bought the 4 megapixel Panasonic Lumix with a 12x optical zoom. I love it!

I basically got it to take pictures when I go to Yellowstone every year. It has an image stabalizer and tons of other features.

Coolest camera I've ever owned...It better be though considering the price tag on it -$600 bones!

If you can afford it, I highly recommend it...

I have the Olympus C5050. It's a 5 MP camera and I love it. I still would like to step up to the E1 or E300 with changable lenses. The Olympus uses both SM and CF memory cards. It also uses standard AA batteries. This is a great feature to me. Ever been out in the middle of taking pictures and your rechargable battery dies. No worry, just pop in 4 standard AA's and you're ready to go again.

I stopped buying canon when i shelled out big money for the A1 HI 8mm digital camrecorder. The quality of the video was great but the circuit boards in the high dallor camera were cheap. So it stayed in the shop most of the time. Then after just 3 years the shop said the board couldn't be repaired. Acid from the cheap transister had leak on to the circuit boards and they couldn't be replaced or repaired. I haven't bought anything from canon since.

I have a 2 MP on my Sony NZ90 PDA that takes really nice pictures too. Except for the canon I agree with the other guys. A 4 MP plus camera from Olympus, Nikon, Sony, Kodak, or Fuji.

OH. And with Bluetooth you don't need any cables. My Sony has it and my Motorola cell phone.

I'm holding out for the Canon EOS 20D.:santa:

I've already got money invested in lenses for my 35mm and want to use them with the digital too.

Our company bouth us Sony Cyber-shots 5.0 mega with 256 Mb cards. The camera has 3X zoom feature and will also do video w/audio and as most it will down load via USB or if you use a card reader it will download that way too. And if yiou use a Sony PC or laptop it will take the card directly and download. I have been using for about 18 months so far in the deserts of Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait without any problems. It came with a set of AA rechargable batteries and a seperate charging stand for the batteries or you can plug the charger into the camera and charge them.

Many many options to chose from, best to do some reaserch then you can make an informed decission and enjoy your photography.

Screw it, just go buy a Canon Digital Rebel.

Or, if your not ready for it, I'll sell you my DiMage 7i and 1GB microdrive (good for well over 1,000 OK quality pics, 700 great quality pics, and around 4-500 of the full 5.2MP uncompressed pics) and other goodies and I'll go buy the Rebel...

Let's see your best shots with your cameras kids... This one is a favorite of mine (although I shrunk it for posting):

I did a lot of research and went with an Olympus C-60. The higher pixel count makes up for lack of optical zoom when cropping or enlarging. I wanted a small pocket camera. The Olympus also has great battery life compared to most other cameras due to the XD card. and was a consumers digest best buy.

good prices can be had at www.buydig.com and www.newegg.com
