Who would win in a race between these 3 cars?

On the way home tonight, there were 3 cars that were racing along the road. They happened to line up at a light and one of them spun the wheels and then they were driving about 70 in a 45. The three cars were an Impala, a Monte Carlo, and a Mazda Rx-7. All three were older models of their respective car.

So which one would win? I would think maybe the Monte Carlo. I don't think it would be the Mazda because it looked like he was having a hard time keeping up going at the slower speeds.

Was it an older rear wheel drive V8 Monte Carlo or a V6 front driver?

RX-7s were never known for their torque off the line, but they were a sports car. And I really don't consider the carlo or impala to be sports cars, at least any from the past ten years. If they were built within the past 10 years I say the RX-7, if not then I think it would go to the carlo's V8.

the monte with the right driver ....
unless of course your talking a straight line drag then they all
stink ...... My buddy and i smoked a geek in a vette on a five mile stretch of highway with equal amounts of curves and straightaways ( the wimp just couldn't drive ) and this was an '85
Monte SS stock suspension ( only tires and wheels changed ) and
the 305 high output block ( stock except air filter swap )

Im gunna go with the RX-7...it's a very light car and has that rotary engine that will really spin out...if it had a turbo it wouldnt even be close.....

Talking

At first I thought the Monte Carlo would win, then I considered that the RX-7 would probably prevail.

Then it became obvious they would both lose when the grille and dash of the Impala lit up with Blue Lights.

I'm gonna have to go with the RX-7.

If it's a red light to red-light (1/4 mile) race; the Monte might have a chance. Heavy emphasis on the word MIGHT.

If it's more than 1/4- and if the RX driver isn't a wuss; it would be no contest...

Those cars against an RX-7 is like putting an Expedition up against a Dodge Caravan SE.... Caravan- hands down winner in accelleration.

You can make any car fast. It depends on what's been done to each of the vehicles. There's really not enough info to say which would win.

No offense, but if your car was stock i'm gonna have to call BS on that(although I'm guessing it wasnt, seeing as the speedo's of 93's only go up to 140, correct?)

Also yes, you can definitly turbocharge a rotary motor, although I'm not positive if any RX-7's came from the factory that way.

Stock for stock and all built recently, the RX-7 would take the cake, but if it was an older monte it could be a good contender, especially because of the lack of high end in that race.

It had a 180mph stock speedo? And the motor is stock?

Dont get yourself killed trying to prove a point to me, just another guy on the internet. Unless of course, you want to go that fast, on a stock suspension, which isnt exactly the smartest of ideas.

Also at those high speeds, any speedo(especially stock) can be, and usually are, off by a good margin, up to 10mph at that speed.

I'm by no means an expert on RX-7's. I know they were pretty quick right out of the box, and have quite a potential about them. But cruisin along at 155 takes a ton of power even for some of the most aerodynamic of cars. If it really can do it then cheers for Mazda because I didnt know they were that fast from the factory.

you misunderstand me i was just going to take a pic of the car and speedo to prove that it came from the factory with a 180 mph speedo, i am older and wiser and going that fast on the street is just not safe, i dont know if it could go that fast after the miles my brother has put on it but when i had it years ago it would,
