Next Action-Hero (Diesel or Rock)

Ok, bu now you've all seen:

Pitch black, Chronicles of Rid****, Fast & Furious, A man Apart, XXX, Walking Tall, The Mummy 2, The Scorpion King and The Run-Down.

Judging by that- who do you think the next big- Hollywood tough-guy will be?

The Rock-

Vin Diesel-

------------------------------------------------------------

There's no doubt that Arnold beat Sylvester to a pulp in the 80's & 90's. Who's next?

I'd have to say Diesel.

I think the Rock's WWF background makes it such that he's not taken as seriously as Diesel...

Then again, this weekend I saw an awful preview at the movies where Diesel plays a Navy Seal whose next mission is to 'protect' a family in suburbia... I think what made me want to upchuck, was when he spun baby bottles like guns, just before sliding them into a modified holster.... That, along with him doing stunts in a minivan in order to get a kid to school on time was really nauseating...

Personally, I think that was a bad career move for him...

Kinda like Arnold in Last Action Hero.. But, Arnold rebounded nicely with the 1994 classic: "True Lies". I don't think he's done a better- more well-rounded movie; except maybe Eraser....

Vincent's pockets are a lot deeper than mine- but if you asked me- I think he's made two rather large dumb-**** moves...

1.) Asking for too much money to do 2 Fast, 2 Furious (He wasn't the star in the first one- not intentionally- that was about Paul Walker)- then, after not getting the $$, still didn't do the movie.)

2.) Not keeping XXX as his own movice line. I like Ice Cube, but you'll never confuse Cube with Diesel as an action hero.

The Rock has way more charisma than Vin, just like Arnold is more likable than Sly despite his somewhat comical aspects. Personally I dislike Vin. I also think the rock is a very very shrewd businessman and probably much smarter and more savy than Vin. JMHO

I actually didn't mind Last Action Hero too much, but I did let out a groan when they entered the police station and that animated cat was revealed... I actually picked it up on DVD a few months back, the effects are pretty good, and well, I love the clip with the Megadeth song.... I agree it was an abysmal follow up to what quite possibly could be one of the best sci-fi movies ever, T2.

I don't know too much about his 'dealings', but those were amusing movies... FYI, in the biker movie Torque the main character says, "I live my life 1/4 mile at a time...", and his GF turns around and says, "That is the stupidist thing I've ever heard...." har-de-har-har.....

As for Ice Cube, I'd never consider him an "action" hero. IMO, his character is always some pissed off black guy looking for revenge or something against THE MAN.

Vin isnt a very good actor, if only liked him as Rid**** and Cpl Capparzo (SPR). The rock is just like Jackie Chan.

So to answer you question I hope Rid**** is the next action star because I love those two movies, and I want more from the universe.
