I know my coworkers are not bad people, just a little ignorant about certain things. I guess that they don't grasp the fact that those guys are not over there having a big party and enjoying themselves. I'm sure no one wants to be deployed to a craphole full of people who hate you no mater what. I think they got the point when I told them that despite a soldier's beliefs about the conflict, they don't have a choice, its their job, if the President says go, you don't get to choose. They were a little put off when I showed them what soldiers get paid as well. I told them imagine having to do your job while getting shot at for less money and they got my point. One of my worries about this conflict is that US soldiers are going to start getting treated like they did when they came home from Vietnam. It still makes me ill that anyone could spit on a guy who just wanted to serve his tour of duty and go home. Too many people out there think that all soldiers are some sort of Rambo like nutcases who are itching for any chance to go fight anywhere in the world. I try my best to make people realize that you can't blame wars on the men who fight them. I've always though that Toby Keith nailed it with the song "American Soldier".

Thanks for all the ideas folks, keep them coming, our first package went out yesterday and it was really big, the department came through big time (I'm not sure how my immediate coworkers did) and we'll send out another one on the 21st.

No need to worry about that my friend. There are NOW a lot more people like me in this great country. If I EVER see anyone spit on a soldier I will whoop his *** and beat him like a dog….

There are very few hippy, make love not war, freaks left in this country, at least none with the ***** to attempt the crap they did with the Vietnam vets.

To you Vietnam vets out there don’t worry because if I get the opportunity and honor of whooping someone’s *** for spiting on a vet I will throw in some killer knee hits to the gut on your behalf…

Ain't nothing better then whooping on some left over flower child...
