So long everyone

Well after a few months of interviews, waiting, interviews, waiting, wedding, offer, counter offer, hospital, and 3rd counter offer. My wife and I finally excepted new positions with our company. We’re both moving to our international division and taking on a 3-year assignment in Japan. We move there in about 2 months so we have a lot of running around to do. One of which is what the heck to do with the cars. We will sell hers but I’m thinking about giving my truck to a buddy and have him use it and kind of look after it while I’m gone. That way when I get back at least I’ll have something to drive and only need to get one more vehicle instead of two. Then after a year back I can get something newer.

Even though I wasn’t the most active member here, I wanted to thank you all for the various advice and funny posts. I’ll stop in from time to time with some Japan stories. Take care everyone!

I have a question. Will this be your first overseas assignment? Did you seek this position out or was it brought to you? The reaon I am curious, is that I am finishing my MBA and looking to move into some internationla business. Curently live in Nebraska, but willing to go where needed. Any insight would be great. If you want, you can email me at:

mikesargent@***.net

Thanks

Sarge,

a friendly point of advice (if I may)

Anytime you post your primary email address on a public forum, at least break it up like so:

mikesargent at *** . net

All these spammers and people who send us useless crap, they have these things that scour public message boards and harvest real life email addresses.

Email addresses are valuable to these useless pieces of crap who don't deserve to live, and they go to great lengths to get them.

So with that in mind, I hope this tiny itty bitty tid bit of knowledge improves your life in a small way.

Regards

Good luck in Japan! Maybe while your there, you can check out the Toyota plant and find out why they consider the Tundra a full size truck!

Thanks everyone! I’m really looking forward to the adventure. It will be a little bit of a sacrifice leaving friends and family, but what a cool experience it will be living in an other country for 3 years.

Sargent – I’ll e-mail you.
