Having a 4X2 is like having a new pair of pants with a broken zipper

Where I live there are hills after hills and often when it snows
the roads do not get cleared quick enough. Because of that I
bought a 4x4. I use it every winter whenever we get snow.
I also have a problem with my truck holding the road in the
rain and I have to use to to keep from spinning out when
turning corners or taking off from a dead stop while accelerating. So when it rains, I end up using the 4x4 as well. I think a
poor alignment job at the dealers resulted in bad tire ware
over the years, so the alignment and condition of the tires
is causing my driving in the rain problems. I need to get
tires with good traction and an alignment from someone
who knows what they are doing, and hopefully I will be
able to eliminate the traction whenever the road is a
little wet problems. has anyone else had problems with
really bad traction in light rain or wet road conditions?
If so, what did you do to resolve it?

My 4x2 has contributed to a worn out zipper.

I went hunting back in my younger days and had only a 2 wheel pickups, was all the time getting stuck. I got me a 4 wheel drive blazer and never got stuck again.Sand is the thing around here that can get you down and thats sand that has been blown across a dirt road. We had a olds all wheel drive that was great in bad weather.I got me a new chev 2 wheel drive and I needed 4 wheel a few times too get out to work about 30 miles. I read about older people going for a ride out in the country and they get stuck,it gets bad after that before somone finds them. these people are in a car or van that should not to be on a dirt road in rain, snow or just dirt roads. So I got me a good truck for going out doors with if I want too.I have a daughter that lives up north and we take the F150 SupeCrew if the weather looks like its going to be bad and in the winter it can change on you before you know it just in just one day.If I use it one time it will have payed its way,its there if I need it. I like the high ride and feel of power knowing I it wwill get me there and back

Surely you do not use four wheel drive in the rain. I am pretty sure that is not very good for your vehicle.

Taking the wife and co-workers to work at the hospital when it snows and going out to get Grandma and Grandad whatever they need during the snow as well.

I really hate the lower gas mileage with the 4x4 but the couple of times in the winter that I need it is worth the lower gas mileage.

I just borrowed my bros F350 to deliver a part to Shippagan, New Brunswick.
4x4 was a must, not a luxory.

36 hours non stop driving all the way through Queer-bec and up to the tip of NB.
The weather sucked the entire time and 4x4 saved our asses.
