That was an amazing pass, the 6 sec barrier was bound to fall eventually with the power those guys are making. Basically a Pro Mod chassis built inside a stock mustang shell.

I personally believe its time to slow them down, which seems to be the consensus emerging from SFI. 207mph in a car weighing 3000lbs is incredibly unsafe. Those cars should be limited to 1/8 mile racing before someone gets killed. They put on a hell of a show though!!

That Steve Petty guy is what it's all about he builds the ost powerful turbo motors out there now.(He's the second from the right standing up in the pic on the video). I heard his engine shop tripled his business because of that run. So if you want a motor done be prepared to wait awhile.

Slowing cars down is a crowd killer. SFI chassis certification and safety rules taker care of your concerns. With that kind of mentality, everybody will soon be relegated to running four cylinders with 60mm turbos.

Obviously, I disagree with your conservatism.

I wander what kind of numbers I could put up with my old pickup if it had that twin turbo motor in it and held up all the way to the end of the track (4x4 engaged for good launch and 10.5 slicks on each corner). Just an idea. BTW awesome run. Naturally, it had to take a ford to break the barrier on the 10.5's, or has a chevy already done it?
