Remote Control Car

Does anyone know of a good R/C car ot truck that a seven year old girl would enjoy? She has asked for one for Christmas and I really have no idea on what to get her. I not looking for top of the line here but something that will last.

Thanks,

Go to Radio Shack. They have pretty good entry level RC toys. If she really likes it then you can move up to more expensive "toys".

In my experience with r/c's, nikko makes the best ones (as far as the electric ones go). When I was into them, they were the only ones that would hold up to any kind of abuse. You can find them at toys-r-us. Prices range from as low as $20 to as much as $300-$400 for them. Just my 2 cents.

Go totowerhobbies.com and look at the "RTR" (ready to run) cars and trucks. Tamiya and HPI models are good entry-level r/c car manufacturers, and they have alot of choices from mild to wild. The "Ready To Run" combo's come with the assembled vehicle, a 6-cell 7.2V battery, battery charger, and radio-controller. Just another idea thrown at you. ----> http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXBDE6&P=0 <--------this is a good RTR entry-level kit that comes with a painted lexan body.

note: you do not need to buy all the items under the "accessories needed tab" in the second link. I Don't know why they put that on there. That's just extra parts available for the car if you want to customize it. Everything you need to hit the road will come with the RTR kit for $99.99.

I appreciate everyone's response. The links above show some nice vehicles but a little out of my price range so that leads me to another question.
My daughter has stated that she either wants a jeep or a truck like her Daddy's F-150(she makes me so proud!). She also wants to be able to run it off road.
Are the R/C's found at ToysRus and other mainstream retailers able to go off road? Since these are electric vehicles, wouldn't they have to be protected from the elements? Would it state somewhere on the box if it was safe for off road use?
The info on the websites don't tell you squat!

Thanks again.

I have the RS F350 with the mattracks. I have had it outside on wet grass. So far no problem. I can't wait until we get some snow here to try the mattracks on snow. Sortta like a tank. I would expect, that as long as you clean it up afterward, and you're not running thru mud you should be okay. I did look at the owners manual and it does say you can use it off road, for what it's worth.
