Unhappy Traded in the truck

I traded in my 00' f150 to get the wife an 05 Dodge Magnum.
I'm still kicking myself in the ***.
Don't get me wrong, the Magnum is a bad *** car but I am currently driving her 98 Monte Carlo and it is killin me.
I think I'm gonna try to find an early 90's Bronco or Blazer because it didnt dawn on me that I have a camper and boat to haul,DOH!
I'd put a hitch on the Magnum but is a lease.Plus that would look....just wrong.
But yeah,I miss my Ford truck.

ummmm.... If she already had the Monte Carlo, then why trade in YOUR truck to buy HER another car? Why didn't you trade in HER MC to buy HER Dodge so you could keep YOUR truck?

The fact that none of this makes a bit of sense to me is probably why I will never be married.

Theres still time to take the magnum back man. Hurry before you put some miles on it. Married or not, theres no way id get rid of my truck so my wife/gf could have a new car and i get stuck with her old crap. Thats probably just me being selfish but theres few things i have to myself since i moved in with my lady and i couldnt deal with having one less.

Wink heh...

First off, I agree with vvyk3d...take the thing back. It wasn't your responsibility to get it for her, especially if there was nothing wrong with the MC to begin with. On the other hand, I can see why you did it and I would probably have done the same thing.

Secondly, RockyJ...You will totally get married someday. You know why? Because not even women can understand women, that's why. No worries bro. The trick is to find one that's a little more sane than the rest. lol.

OMG! You traded an F150 for a Dodge Magnum??? Are you NUTS??? Sorry, I think they are ugly. Anyhow, I agree with everyone else, why did you trade your rig for her vehicle? The MC could go...get the Magnum (shudder) and keep the F150...everyone's happy.

I traded the truck in because the MC is paid off whereas the truck wasnt and I could not afford two vehicle payments.
We needed a more family friendly vehicle with four doors and stuff.
Trust me when I say I am kicking myself, but I am going to find another used truck to buy.

If you're kicking yourself, you must not have gotten the Hemi....

340 horses will make you forget you ever owned a Ford.

It may make you forget about the Ford, but that's until it breaks repeatedly and you can't tow or haul anything, and it's not as pretty, and it's not a truck.

I drive Ford's, and I have yet to break-down (knock on wood), but- in my years as a Ford trucker, I have friends who drive Rams, and they haven't had trouble either...

To listen to you guys, one would assume that Dodges are snap, crackling & popping like a bowl of Rice Krispies... Not once have a heard a Ram driver say he's leaving Dodge & coming to Ford because his Ram is a POS...

Where is the unreliability coming from? In 2002/2003 Daimler/Chrysler (US domestic) products moved ahead of Mercedes in terms of build quality and problems per 100 vehicles sold for the first time, ever... I think it's a safe bet that quality has come up across the line.

I agree. My mom has owned a durango and now has a hemi quad cab, and my uncle has a 99 1500 4x4 sport with a 360. These have been the least troublsome vehicles (besides the toyotas) that are family has had. If I didn't like fords so much, I would own a dodge. BTW, the last three fords we have owned, we have had to put new trannys in them. My 90's tranny went at 143,000, which is not too bad, but my 97's and my mom's 95 e150's trannys went at 48k and 37k respectively.

I am not one to knock Fords either...hell, I've owned 6 F-150's in the past 10 years. BUT, I would definately consider taking the Mag back to the dealer if YOU'RE not happy with it. They're pretty awesome, but you can't compare that to an F-150.

Maybe you should consider upgrading to a SuperCrew like some others have mentioned.

Then again, check with your local Ford dealer...they are PUSHING THESE 2004'S OFF OF THE LOTS! You could get one heck of a deal on a 2004 SCab or SCrew. You'd be surprised how much room the new SCab's have with all 4 doors.

Seriously, an '04 is not so far fetched right now.

BTW, surely you have payments on the new Mag, right?

Consider your options...it's your money...but do it NOW before you rack up the miles on the Mag.

That's just my Humble Opinion.

Best of luck either way.

Hey hey,had to bump this thread.
I couldnt stand not having a truck.
BTW,the wife loves the magnum and I don't think it's to bad either.
But the other day I saw an F150 sitting on the side of the road with a for-sale sign on it.
$1500 later and it is mine.
It's a 91 xlt,2wd w/3.9 V6. Runs very well with minimum rust for Michigan excluding the tailgate. I HAVE A FORD TRUCK AGAIN!!!
Just wanted to let you all know.
