When i was in the Army (ets in 2001) we did PT at least 4 times a week. This played a big part why i got out. My knees could not take running 3-5 miles a day 4 times aweek every week.

Hmmm, 5th sig had PT every day of the week. Twice a day if you were overweight. 20-30 miles a week in formation is rough on the joints. My knees have never been the same as they were pre-Army.

Every thursday we would show up in full battle rattle at 1st formation and then go off training. There always seemed to be a road march involved.

I had a theory that if you wanted to serve more than 20 years you didn't train enough for the job or you were masochistic and enjoyed hurting yourself. When my unit went to unit PT and they considered paying basketball/wallyball/any ball PT I figured it was way past time to get out.
