Explorer question.

I bought a used 2000 Ford explorer limited v8 awd today to drive to keep the wear down on my truck.

Does anyone know if the v8 awd has a limited slip rearend or is/was it an option. I can give the axle code if anyone can decode it for me.

Thanks for any help.

Lifeguard,Im glad you spelled Powerbrake powerBREAK because if you do that with an all wheel drive you will most likely break something.`04 Red I have a 96 AWD Explorer.Your rear is a 8.8 in. limited slip probably a 3.73 gear might be a 4.10 but they are rare.Don`t take the advise of someone who can`t even spell the word brake.

Thanks tuna.

I wasnt sure. I was just wondering how this one would do in the snow.

Also do you know what would cause a roaring sound in the front end? Im thinking it may be the wheel bearings or a broken belt in one of the tires. It has 73,000 miles on it.
