Should non-American Citizens interfere with USA election

If you read the threads in here, you'll see that non-american citizens are trying to influence Americans in who to vote for.

what are your views?

My view is that it is an American Election so only Americans should pursuade others into voting.

If we were to try and influence another's countries election we would NEVER hear the end of it.

If you think that outsiders can change the way a person votes, you don't have a very high opinion of your fellow citizens. I think the average american can make up his/her own mind...

the part about trying to influence other countries elections was a joke, right?

My personal opinion is I think anyone who wishes to voice an opinion should be able to, regardless if they are from America or not…

With that said, I would caution anyone to listen to others on a website forum when it comes to making a decision on who one should vote for. I have my opinions and others have there’s and I would hope, and quite sure, nobody would vote for somebody I support simple because I support them.

It’s up to individuals to be informed in what ever manner they think is appropriate. I would hope discussions here would open people’s minds to do some research on their own.

There is one thing we know for sure which is someone from another country has NO idea what is “really” going on here in America, they don’t get ALL the facts and they never will. They get what their biased media gives them and that’s it.

However, that is no different then in America, while we may have more avenues to gather information the fact of the matter is most our media is biased as well, many for the left and some for the right so in the end NO one can get all the information they really need from one source…

Therefore, I feel as long as someone from another country does NOT have the right to vote in America they can say what ever they want because at the end of the day it doesn’t really carry much weight which is about the same amount of weight any of us carry…

Sure they are entitled to their opinion but it doesn’t mean Jack Schit. It really pisses me off to hear a non-U.S. citizen bitching about our elections. Please feel free to talk about trucks, women, beer whatever else comes to mind, JUST STAY THE ***** OUT OF OUR BUSINESS. When I was traveling abroad I always showed this level of courtesy, I wish others would do the same.

Sadly, I don't believe this was a joke . . .

Quite frankly the most stupid and ignorant comment I have ever read.

Please yell me you were joking, otherwise I will have to submit the above comment to the Stupid Awards where you will sweep every available category with just this one remark.

Another example of the ignorance it takes to be a shrubbie.

Notice how the verbose sporky didn't address it either.

sure they should be able to. the results will affect most of the countries in the world.

the second point is, the US tries to influence foreign elections just as much, so it's really hypocritical to say others can make their attempt to sway the results.

But just remember, at the end of the day, it's the American VOTERS that determine their leadership in the executive and legislative branches of government (2 out of 3 ain't bad)

I sure will be glad when the count is finally in. Then the people that are on this board just for the politics will be silent or gone. Certainly not calling any names, Loutist does that well enough for all of us.

Steve has it listed as Turdmackistan. I'll change it in the database.

Thanks for the update.

Well, why not? One of your most esteemed American "documentary producers" decided he should come up to Canada and "campaign" in Ontario against Stephen Harper(the only real threat to the Liberal steamroller up here). Michael Moore lent his support to those against Stephen Harper, quite vocally, and one town in Ontario has even made him an honorary citizen. FYI, Michael Moore considers Stephen Harper to be cut from the same cloth as Bush, but he really should've butted out of our business. There was talk of even holding him accountable and fining him, but how are you going to do that? What's our business is ours, what's yours is yours, but John Kerry's leadership, if it happens, could be very detrimental to us, if we think it's been bad under Bush, look out.

if any Canadians want to lynch Michael Moore for sticking his American nose where it dosn't belong (a Candaian election) feel free (I'll even donate money towards your legal fees if you were to get arrested), thats just as inappropriate as operation clark county. If you need to get rid of the body after you kill him ship it back here and we'll throw it in the landfill with the rest of the trash, I think I'de even spring for postage.
