Hey everyone i just signed up tonight. Bought a 1997 F-150 acouple weeks ago. Love the truck and hope to get some good information from here.

What types of noises, etc are you experiencing? Any pics of your truck??

 

Just do a search first for any of the problems you are having. Use the search tab at the top of the page. If you cant find answers in there then just post away and ask. Theres a ton of knowledge here and im sure someone will be able to help you out.

Thanks again everyone.. It's a knocking noise coming from the engine area... At higher rpms when i give it jut a little big of gas. When i give it alot of gas i hear no problems. Was thinking Catalytic Converter but not for sure. Any help would be great.

what motor do you have? If its the 4.6, it could be an issue with pinging, a commom issue with the 4.6's. Theres lots of possible fixes, like:

Plugs/wires
O2 sensors
cleaning the MAF sensor
fuel filter
upper intake cleaning
Seafoam run thru the fuel/intake systems
