Mountain Biking Forums

Hey Guys - -

I was a serious mountain biker in college and I am starting to get back in it.

Anyone know of a mountain biking forum similar to this one?

Thanks in advance.

not sure of one, but when you find one let me know.

What kind of bike do you have?

I've got a Trek Liquid 25.

I have a Schwinn 4-Banger that is tricked out as my cross county/free ride bike. Then I also have my new Banshee Scream fully tricked out for downhill racing and jumping. I love biking!

I also have my built of Haro Supra Delux, which is my BMX bike from back in the day. Did a lot of dirt jumping on that. Nyquist is my hero!

Try a search on google for MTB forums. I am a member of a few, each one caters to a different type of rider. There are some general forums out there as well. Let me see if I can find the link.

I am in search for a new ride as we speak!!

The Giant I had (thrashed, that is) in college has seen better days, which is why I am looking for the forum to get some inside help before going to the bike shops where they try to sway you to their "preferred" brands.

I looked into the Liquid. What do you think about it?

Its awesome. The suspencion travel is enough for some big jumps and then the SPV Manitou shocks kick in when pedeling hard on single track. When we go out to the single track, it has quite a few tree ruts across the trail and some really fast downhill sections. I eat my friends alive in these areas. The hydraulic brakes are nice also. I also looked at some of the specialized, and they were really nice but didn't offer the amount of suspencion travel that I was looking for. Seems like the liquid is a good cross between a downhill and a singletrack bike. The only downside with the Liquid is that it doesn't looke as "fancy" as some of the other full suspencion bikes, but if you ride one you wont care. The only thing, they bike sizes are so much different than the old ones or seemed that way when I test road them, be sure and ride a lot of bikes, and figure out what size you like. I'm 6'3-6'4" so not every bike fits good.

Thanks a million Phillip!!

I have always liked Trek, so I will add that one to the list of potentials. As for the looks, I think the liquid looks much better than the "space alien" models available today.

Anyone else have some advice?

Hey Phillip what size is your Liquid? I am 6'3"-6'4" as well. I have been looking into the liquid to repalce my Schwinn 4-Banger (which I love! But I cracked the headset and bottom bracket recently). I dont care how it looks, I want function and I think Treck offers alot of that!

its the 19" (mabee 19.5", forget how they size them)

Trek is made in the USA wich is a huge pluss!!! However, the 05 Liquids are going to have a differnt frot Fork and a little differnt support for the seat post.
