Outstanding!

My boys and I are doing it tonight, although with a 10 and 13 year old, the prime concern is not to hollow-out any fingers.

when I was a kid I remember a pre halloween trip the the ER b/c my dad cut himself while demonstrating how to do detailed pumpkin carving with an xacto knife. We left the blood on the pumpkin for effect.

That's funny because we have that witch one on our front porch as well. Okay, not so funny but we have the same kit. The girls must like it. I also had her do the vulture one.

Oh, to remember the joys of bonding with your children.....

I can almost hear your Dad's voice as he arrived home later that evening...... "What the he!! is that? Get that F...ing pumpkin off the front porch, and hand me a beer, this finger is throbbing like crazy!"

You cheated.. I bought that same kit at walmart. Your carving skills are way better than mine. Nice job

Wow those are all very nice! I have three kids that I will be carving for tomorrow night. We have used the kits before too. Only downer is that is takes an hour or so per pumpkin. Hope mine turn out half as nice as all of yours! Oh I tried to see the lunar eclipse the other night too, but it got cloudy.

You want quick & easy pumpkins do as we do. Give the kid a black market & tell her to have at it. Ok so she's only 2 1/2 but I think we'll stick to painting the pumkins for a few years until they are both able to use knives safely (little brother is 3 months).

The funniest pumpkin I ever saw, and by the way the easiest to make, was the throw up pumpkin. Carve out a very simple pumpkin with 2 eyes, a nose and then a big open mouth. Take all the guts and seeds that you pulled out and put them out in front of it leading to the mouth. It looks like the pumpkin tossed his cookies.
