Talking Get the retaliation in first

Ok, almost election time and someone has to lose.

We all know the election will be as close as 2000, so list your excuses here as to why your candidate was robbed of the result.

Points may be awarded for style and crassness of excuse.

Here's everyones chance to start early so go ahead,

Bush/Kerry lost because..............

Thumbs up

Kerry lost because of his "tax the pants off Sub-Chapter S Corps" idea. pictured below are Boston area business owners on the front lawn of "Kerryland", begging for tax relief

Talking Bush lost because...

...of that little childrens song:

'If Your Happy And You Know It, Bomb Iraq"

If you cannot find Osama, bomb Iraq.
If the markets are a drama, bomb Iraq.
If the terrorists are frisky,
Pakistan is looking shifty,
North Korea is too risky,
Bomb Iraq.

If we have no allies with us, bomb Iraq.
If we think somebody dissed us, bomb Iraq.
So to hell with the inspections,
Let's look tough for the elections,
Close your mind and take directions,
Bomb Iraq.

It's "pre-emptive non-aggression," bomb Iraq.
Let's prevent this mass destruction, bomb Iraq.
They've got weapons we can't see,
And that's proof enough for me,
If they're not there, they must be,
Bomb Iraq.

If you never were elected, bomb Iraq.
If your mood is quite dejected, bomb Iraq.
If you think Saddam's gone mad
With the weapons that he had,
And he tried to kill your dad,
Bomb Iraq.

Fall in line and follow orders, bomb Iraq.
For our might knows not our borders, bomb Iraq.
Disagree? We'll call it treason,
Let's make war not love this season,
Even if we have no reason,
Bomb Iraq.

I will admit that I have been to Canada.
and yes, I will admit I was sexually active.

I can envision this touching scene between father and son after Bush loses the election:

The two are seated by a crackling fire, in big leather, stuffed chairs, in the living room of Dubbya's ranch, sipping cognacs.

Dubbya is speaking: "But Dad, where did I go wrong? You invaded Iraq, but then left before the job was done, and you lost the election. I invaded Iraq, but stayed and even captured Saddam, and they threw me out, too."

"I know, son, I thought I had it all figured out this time. Ironic as hell, ain't it?"

"What's 'ironic' mean, Dad?"

best comeback I've heard in a very long time.

and backto the original thread...

Bush lost because of perceptions (we won't argue truth or fiction) of the economy, Iraq war, softness on Korea and deficit

Kerry lost because he was a phony, couldn't make up his mind on the issues, was going to be weak on the war on terror, even softer on Korea, perception that he would cave in to the French and Germans, bad hair, doesn't drive a Ford pickup, etc

If Bush loses, it will be due to voter fraud.

Should Bush lose, he will step down gracefully and not contest the election as he knows dividing the country further over a contested election will harm us and detract from our efforts to win the war on terror.

If (when) Kerry loses, it will be because the Bush base has a very high turnout.

If (after) Kerry loses, he and his minions will bitch and moan and challenge the election for the next four years, in an effort to undermine Bush's 2nd term. They know this will weaken our nation, but that will not deter them.

If Kerry loses, he will bow out quietly because he just realized that if he had won he would HAVE TO SHOW UP TO WORK!
