God I love my Morning commute.....
I,m running a property right down town now so I drive the tollway into Dallas from Plano every morning. I leave the house about 5:35 AM so there's hardly anyone there at that time and of course the Black and Whites have shifted thier attention to 190 also. Everyones doing 75 or 80 so I can get it to 85 90 and not seem like I'm blowing doors off either. Going down through the Addison canyon is the best part. I've had some Mercs and Beemers on my tail going through there but when I hug that wall so close I'm kicking dust and debrie up on 'em they back off real quick. My programer and the fact I'm running 3.55's and 265 x 18's has me doing 78 at 1950 rpms and still plenty of peddle left. I had a Chevy come up behind me yesterday and I just shifted down out of over drive then one more down out of that and I was 95 when it shifted back up to forth and 105 when it kicked to OD. His rev limiter and mPH guard kept him back there a ways...I love my morning commute...oh yeah going home at 5..35-40..stereo cranked...tall boy in the bag
My commute is pretty nice, too. I have about 15 miles of interstate, then an interchange in a city, then about 5 more miles of interstate and then I have an insane mountain 2 lane road that goes for about 5 miles. It's curvy as all get-out, and it's really steep, and I have a straight pipe on the truck, and when I leave the windows down, it sounds like Bristol when I'm going to work.
texfordD, sounds sweet man! Oh and I also like to kick up a litte road debris on those pesky tailgators too!
I commute 50 miles each way every day. And like you I occassionally like to have a frosty on the way home. On the little two lane highway I travel I may see a dozen cars on a good day!

Yes, I LOVE that section of the tollway too; However, I like it moreso heading North (Into Plano) than I do southbound.
When I had my Maxima, approaching the Keller Springs plaza at 100+ was always cool. I have been surprised at how well my Ford Trucks hug those curves at 80 - 85 as well. Northbound or southbound.
Basically, the tollway (And George Bush/190) Why'd they name that after him anyway??? should be called-
Autobahn-Dallas, and Autobahn 190.
The first time I drove the autobahn, coming up hee to interview for a job, the speed limit was 55; Cars were zipping past me on both sides at 75-80. It wasn't long that I was in the mix as well; when I'm not leading the way.

Now that I think about it, Preston, Spring Creek and Parker Road are nice in-city Autobahns as well.
What other city can you be in, that has 6-lane regular streets and the average speed on them is 50 - 60 MPH, even though the limit is 40 - 45?
I love Plano/North Dallas!
Better have a good radar detector though. Plano cops on those motorcycles can hide in the darndest places...
