Truck bed vibration
Have a truck bed vibration on my STX that seems excessive after hitting road bumps. Look in rear view mirror and see bed vibrating up and down. Had all four tires replaced by dealer no help. Does anyone have idea of problem?
Yeah, the problem is you. The frame is ultra stiff, the bed is bolted directly to the frame and has more sheet metal that ever before due to the deeper box. All this results in a perfectly normal bed shake.
And if the bed didn't absorb the vibes from the rear, what would happen? That's right, they would transfer to the cab and drive you insane while it shakes your interior apart.
If you don't like it, chop the bed apart and re-inforce the sheetmetal on the sides.

damn D, you still cranky from lack of sleep? Despite the attitude, he gave you good info though. Some bed shake is inevitable on these new trucks b/c of the stiffness of the frame. Has the bed shook the entire time you have had the truck or has it just started? Depedning on what year of truck you have you might find better info in the appropriate forum, if you have an 04 STX like I suspect, try the 2004-05 forum.
It's the 0 post count combine with the clear lack of a search (or a half-assed search) that resulted in the attitude.
Plus, it should be in the '04 forum so I can ***** up my count some more. Gotta get the 2k for you to prove a point.
