I can accept that reasoning; but, who replaces them, if by some chance Kerry wins? Does Al Sharpton get a cabinet post this time around? How about Dean? Nancy Pilosi? When Bush was elected the first time around, he rolled out the people he was going to surround himself with, and increased his viability in the eyes of many people. It may even have made the difference in the election. When is Kerry going to make a big production of the people he is going to replace the current supporting cast with? There isn't a lot of time left. I'm more afraid of that than I am of him becoming President. I don't like that idea either; but, with a Republican dominated congress, he's not going to destroy the Constitution. There's not going to be a whole lot of the more attractive promises he's making to his voter base going through either. Basically, he'll be sitting on his hands for a few years. I don't think this is a good time for that kind of Presidency.

I agree with alot of that and would love to see that put in place also.

But that also brings up "internet sales tax" and when that will be placed into effect.

It would be interesting to see how much howling, whining and class warfare a truly fair tax would bring in.

Contrary to what some might believe, I think that Raouls reasoning is sound.
Very sound and true. It's the adminstration as a whole that we are voting in.

In this election the difference is that we know what we have vs who Kerry would bring in. If we were garaunteed a very good adminstration with Kerry, I think that would swing many votes to him.

When my flashlight is dead and I open the kitchen junk drawer and find two used batteries, I still pop the dead ones out and see what the used ones might do for me.

If I don't at least try'em I know I'll be in the dark.

(I had a good analogy using a toaster and a fly swatter but, I confused my ownself)

That's one way of looking at it I guess. I just don't think those batteries are the right size for the flashlight. I guess if you're in the dark, you have to fumble around a little, and go through a little trial and error. I just don't think the potential error is an acceptable risk right now. I don't think things are going as badly now as you do; so, I know I can't speak for you.

I'm confused just trying to imagine what it might have been.

Thumbs up

You sir are a scholar and a gentleman for not asking me to explain the analogy about my toaster, fly swatter and one exposed butt cheek.

I truely appreciate you allowing me to maintain my dignity.

Why not just have a consumtion tax. You are only taxed on what you buy. The more you make, the more you buy, the more tax you pay.
