I like the looks of the steel roof, might put one on my house when I build it.

 

we have a metal roof on the log home- cant have any other type (other than slate, or terra-cotta) due to wildland, national forest federal fire regs. even though it is metal, snow will stick to it. we've got a 12/12 pitch and it takes about 1.5'-2' of wet snow before it lets loose and you get to experience a mini avalanche. dry snow will slide immediately. metal roofs provide one the coolest sounding experiences you can get when it rains- its awesome.
