Early Voting?

Anyone do it yet? They just opened up the polls here (Las Vegas) in certain places. I'm sticking to the traditional ways, election day. Plus I just don't know enough about some of the local candidates, trying to learn a little about them these last few weeks.

Anyone getting besieged with phone calls? I got slammed right after the debate with the question of who I'm voting for. I had to unplugged my phone. I'm SICK of the union calling to make sure I back "our" candidate John Kerry, they're not happy when I tell them he's not my choice. My phone rings a few times each evening

Like I said once before, all politicians at that level are rich. Be it Democrat or Republican, they are rich. The rich are for the rich, the rich just keep getting richer and neither of them are truly for you or I - only words to get our vote. Look how politicians have set up their retirement system for doing a meager amount of time in Washington, no one looking to reform that - and it costs us!

However, I do need to vote, and my vote will go to the lesser of the two evils...

I will be out your way on Election Day this year, JD, so I am going to be voting absentee for the first time. I've been stressing the process since I have yet to receive my ballot!

I dont like early voting. If you cant get the polls on election day, then go absentee. Everything these days is being built around "convenience", geesh, men have fought and died so we can vote. It's not too much trouble for me to stand in line for an hour or two.

I'm still waiting for drive thru voting. That would be great...

-"Welcome to McDonalds, can I take your order?"
-"I’d like a BigMac combo, super size with a pepsi and a presidential candidate that doesn’t suck."
-"We only have coke and candidates who suck"
-"Damn, ok, I'll have a coke and I want to vote for an irrelevant third party."
-"Ok, that’s a BigMac combo, super size with coke and an a vote for the libertarians?"
-"Yeah that’s right, and make sure you don't skimp on the ketchup packets and napkins."
-"That will be $5.97, first window, thank you for choosing McDonalds for your dining and voting convenience."

Absentee voting is better than not voting at all. What I don't like about absentee is your vote counts "eventually". They count all the votes but most times the election is called before the absentee envelopes are even opened.
And I wonder about the care given to the absentee tally.
For example:
Let's say total votes cast including absentee is 1,000,000.
Of the 1 Million, 50,000 are absentee ballots.

When the polls close:
Candidate "A" receives 525,000 votes
Candidate "B" receives 425,000 votes

So, Candidate "A" is leading by 100,000 and
"oh crap" there are 50,000 envelopes we got to open and count. Even if Candidate "B" got 100% of the absentee, it is a thankless job.

Here is the "When" and the "Who" for each state:

My hubby was just telling me that he got one of those calls. I asked him if he informed them that he doesn't vote (don't get me started).
