seat tracks 2004 f-150

I like my new 2004 f-150 reg CAb 4x4, But I do have a problem. This blessed truck has no leg room. I'm 6ft three and do not have a problem with my left leg but with my right, my knee has to pivit on a wacky angel to reach the gas pedal.

The power ad.just pedals are useless, My old 97-f-150 Rc had a lot more room, My question is, is the seat track on a 04 extended cab the same as a regular cab?

I'm some what disaponited with the 04`s lack lack of space in driver comfort, So i'm wondering if moving the seat track all the way back ( regular cabs have a lip behind the seat for the extra 6 in) or swaping one out in a extanded cab will work.

This is a work truck and I need the 8ft box, I also don't like the copy cat f-350 smaller doors ( driver-passenger) ford should have kept the same size as the 97-03 f-150.

Passenger seat has ampel room for me, Truck is awsome to drive and i'm impressed with the mecanical improvements Ford has made.

Gonna get the swazal out and cut a hole in the lower Ford explorer look alike dashboard, or hire some one shorter to drive me arround.

Ford you did good but you forgot abought the bigger guys who drive trucks, any one have any ideas, amuputation is not an option!

I don't have an 04 F-150, but I do have an 03 Expedition, and I notice the inches they took from the front seat & second row to make that third row roomier.

The older Expeditions were roomier in the first two rows, and felt wider too... But, for what the new body lacks in interior space, it makes up for in ride comfort.

I agree, the previous Generation was better looking (Truck & SUV), but these new bodies are making a name of their own...

I parked my Expedition beside an Armada yesterday- and my goodness; you don't need a ruler to see that the Armada is far roomier in the 1st & 2nd rows, and in width. Same goes for the trucks.

You can't go wrong either way.

I'm 6 friggen' 10 and don't have any issues. I've driven regular, extended, and purchased a supercrew. At a full 7 inches shorter than I am, it boggles my mind as to how you can say 'this truck has no legroom'. That's precious!

damn, you've been eating your Wheaties!

I agree there is a lot of legroom, but I do find that the pedals are further forward than my 98. If the power adjustables went back another 2 inches it would be perfect.

due to the lack of leg room in my o4 f-150 rc ( my 97 and 02 f150 were more comfortable to drive) I'm woundering if the seat tracks on the extended cabs are the same as the rc.
My ford dealer dosen't want to move them due to the saftey worrys they have if I crash this truck.
Would any one have some suggestions?
My complaint is that my right leg has has to pivet on a angel to reach the gas pedal. my left leg is fine.
On a long trip, a Honda civic is more comfortible for me to drive. I'm only 6 ft 3, other wise this 04 is an excellant truck, but not a perfect truck. e-mail rkk012@hotmail.com

lonnie,

Perhaps there is some difference between the RC and the SCabs and SCrews...
I'm not as freakishly tall as dzervit , but at 6'6", my Screw has plenty of leg room for me.
It might be worthwhile to take a SCab for a test drive to see if there is a difference.
