Whats with the Ford haters ?

I got into it the other day in the brake forum with some newby. I see these posts on occasion about what big piles of junk Fords are and that this truck or that truck is better. What gives with these guys. I would venture a guess that most of the people on this board are reasonably happy with their choice. ALL manufacturers have lemons and everything mechanical breaks from time to time. I check this site to get some helpful info or pass along a litle help to someone else who might need it. I don't have much use for some numb skull that posts a bunch of trash.

Man I am right with you pestco!!

People have one little problem with their truck/car and immedately they think its junk because they ask their friends that have a different year/vehicle and they say "I aint never had the problem" so now their truck/car is a piece of junk and all the other stuff that particullar manufacturer makes must be junk too!

All I can say is Grow the F up!!

It's a simple answer. People are stupid & never satisfied. Just ignore them. Or, ridicule them until they give up. I prefer the ladder as I achieve a high level of amusement from making fun of others. People get lemons, I know this. But apparently they don't understand that when you make millions of cars & trucks a year, a few are bound to be crap. It sucks, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. Suck it up you whinners and deal with it like a rational human being. If not, prepare to be mocked.

The only problem i have had with my f150 was an mitsubishi eclips, or however you spell it, and a drunk driver. the drivetrain from the transmission back had to be replaced including both springs and a bedside. other than that i have had no problems

Must say I was a Ford hater yesterday as I changed the plugs in my 99' 5.4. With 4 hours of my life gone and skinned up knuckles.
Didnt have a good word come out of my mouth then.

Then I turn the key, heard them duals, got no codes and I was happy again.

Sled...

People really need to check out the build quality of other brands before ranting an raving about Ford. A good example is my father. He has just recently purchased a new 2004.5 Dodge 2500 Cummins Diesel SLT 4x4. This this is loaded! Its good looking and a pleasure to drive. I was happy for him at first.

Two weekends ago I installed some stainless tube steps and bed rail caps. While under the truck I noticed four things that a $40,000 should not have:

1) A large wiring harness, unprotected and not sealed, is exposed right behind the left front tire. When this corrodes or shorts out, who knows what will happen.

2) The truck is two tone. The dark crimson color is smeared in places over the silver on the underside of the cab. Looks like finger painting!

3) When you shut the motor off, the accesories keep the belt spinning slightly, making the belt squeal on the crankshaft pulley.

4) The front axle is suspended by a four link coil spring suspension. The bushings in the links have about 3/8" of rubber material before htting steel to steel. That gives a possible movement of 3/4" if the bushings deteriorate. Tha axle housing is only 1/2" away from the oil pan in a horizontal direction. In ten years I can see the axle smashing into the pan.

I like his truck, but side by side, the Fords and Chevys are far ahead of Dodge in build quality. Its the little things that are not visible to the average person that count.
