ready to buy, have some questions...

I am not going to beat-around-the-bush here. I am ready to buy a 4-door truck because I need it for around the house, travel, tow, etc.

I have narrowed my choice down to the 2K4 F-150 and the Titan. Honestly, I am leaning towards the F-150 b/c of the nice rebates and such. I will be able to pick up a CrewCab 4X2 with tow pkg, sliding glass, bed extender for just under $25 at my local dealer.

Is this a good price for this particular model? This is with Xplan and $4000 in rebates? Or are there better deals to be had?

Secondly, is there something I don't know about the Titan that can solidify my choice in buying an F-150? I say this b/c I am on the fence. I have test driven both and the Titan has some advantages, for example, the Titan seems to be more powerful with more pickup and it is alot stiffer with good road manners. I also like the aluminum V8 block.

Any thoughts?

The Titan does get up and go faster than a F-150 screw. The Ford tows like a sun-of-a-gun and has a great track record.

The Nissan has two recalls:

Make : NISSAN Model : TITAN Year : 2004
NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number : 04V408000 Recall Date : AUG 09, 2004
Component: POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION:COLUMN SHIFT ASSEMBLY
Potential Number Of Units Affected : 5664

Make : NISSAN Model : TITAN Year : 2004
NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number : 04V345000 Recall Date : JUL 01, 2004
Component: SEAT BELTS:FRONT:ANCHORAGE
Potential Number Of Units Affected : 59947

The F-150 has one, with only a few hundred units effected:

Make : FORD Model : F150 Year : 2004
NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number : 04V200000 Recall Date : APR 16, 2004
Component: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY
Potential Number Of Units Affected : 371

Draw your own conclutions. Ford did an OUTSTANDING job on the new truck. The Titan is new, the platform needs some time to mature. And yes, I understand this is an 'all new' F150, but with gobs of expieriance on Ford's side they are more likely to do it right.

Oh, as for the performance, spend a grand more on mods and you'll match or beat any stock Titan out there.

JUST MY OPINION... compare the 2 as to what you like, want, need in a truck. Drive them both and not just around the block. Take it home for a day. If you serious about buying and the dealer is serious about selling then this shouldnt be a problem. I've done it before.
For me, obviously the F150 won. I dont like the Titan at all. I think its ugly for one. I thought the interior was a bit cramped and felt very cheap. I remember pushing on the overhead console toward the front of it and it was real flimsy. I absolutely HATE the big black plastic protector or whatever it is on the tailgate, what is that anyway?

All in all, YOU have to make the final decision. I can only tell you this, look at the recalls posted earlier in this thread. Read all the posts and you will see that 99% of the people who own the F150 are extremely happy with it in every aspect. I have 13,000 miles on mine and havent had one single problem. I love it like a fat kid loves cake. And still 9 months later, im getting looks from all the chevy and dodge guys and get stopped in parking lots from guys who want to check it out.

Good luck with your decision. If you get the Ford we'll see you here. If you get the Titan, good luck and maybe one day you will have a ford and come back to visit us

Well, it's up to you to decide which truck will fit your needs better.

25k for an 04 supercrew sounds like a good deal to me. What engine and trim is it?
