Mustang sales off like a bullet

The redesigned 2005 Ford Mustang appears to be a hit before it hits the street. Mustang, an icon among muscle-car lovers, has drawn more traffic to Ford Motor's Web site than any other vehicle ever, with more than 200,000 people supplying personal information to get brochures....

Shame they only send brochures within the US. Though the new mustang looks excellent.

Couple weeks back on my commute home I spotted a GT up ahead. I had to work like hell to get up to it (ie, running women & bikers off the road) but man that was one sweet 'stang. It was a black on black GT that had a showroom shine. Soooo very purdy, and sounded mean. I hung with him for a bit to gawk, pissed that I didn't have a camera...

It almost made me wish I was short enough to actually own one...

I've only seen pictures of the front end. Is this rest of it retro?

Yeah, it's all pretty retro. So friggen hot. You definitely will NOT mistake it for a different car when comin' up from behind it. The tail lamps are a taken from the mid-60s stangs and given that modern touch.. ooohhh so sweet.

I love driving by Ford WHQ every day... not to mention living/driving by the plants, Roush & SVT design/build areas, etc... it's a little slice of Blue Oval heaven here...

The interior looks HOT. Plus, it looks like this rumor is going to make it to production:

The all-new 2005 Ford Mustang will feature a Delphi-produced industry-first color-configurable instrument cluster so customers can light their gauges in any of 125 unique colors. Instrument gauges can be subtly or dramatically illuminated in the new 'Stang, using three light-emitting diodes (LEDs). But it's not just red, green and blue, like crayons from a box. The colors combine to provide six preset shades – green, blue, purple, white, orange and red. Innovative "light pipe" technology then steps in and allows '05 Mustang owners to mix and blend these six shades for up to 125 custom-colored backgrounds. The six-gauge cluster, with selectable-color backlighting, will be available as an option on the base and GT model of the 2005 Mustangs.
Need to know more?! http://bradbarnett.net/mustangs/timeline/05/05/

I agree, they look cool, but with a whole new platform, me thinks there will be some , um , 'problems', and will wait until '07 for kinks to be worked out. Plus, if you get a new GT now, even at 300 HP, think of how you will feel in 2 years when the Mach 1 / Boss / Cobra is released...............I'm personally holding out for 2 years. But Im sure they will sell a TON of base (V6) and GT (V8) models its first year, no doubt. But the real performance will be seen in 06 and 07.

Consider yourself technologically sodomized.
