Kentucky?
Greetings all!
I am headed to the fine State of Kentucky next month (Oct. 8-10), Louisville (Middletown) area. Will be attending a Rescue class offered there, supposedly one of the biggest in the world. Anyways, who can give the down low on the Louisville area...best place to hunt for girls, drink and eat. I have never been there and am really looking forward to the trip down. I will be taking the ole 150 down, looks to be a 6 hour trip from Pittsburgh. So, hook up a brother with the info. And if any of you are EMS/Fire guys or gals I can e-mail you info. about this class. Or if you know any EMS/Fire people, Id like to check out some fire houses while im down there.
Thanks for the help!

I'll bet RP will give you some good info, well except for the girl situation...he might create an alias for that response. Be on the lookout for someone who replies about all of the local watering holes and where to pick up the hotties. This person will have a post count of zero and will dissappear into thin air afterwards.
I've been to the Louisville area many times since I live 2 hours away. There's a huge flea market held pretty often in the facilities around where the Louisville Cardinals play. Can't say too much about the area other than around there. I know downtown isn't much to speak of from what I've seen. Out towards the airport are lots stores, a couple nice malls, etc. That's probably all the info I can offer up...sorry. There are some nice areas around there. Personally, I like Lexington much better. And of course, Northern KY near Cincinnati

Yep, I'm in Louisville. Shoot me an email with your schedule and maybe we can link up for a cold one or fifteen.

Oh yeah, I might be able to get you in touch with someone that can get you in a firehouse or two... and, as I finally read your full post, I can point you towards some nightlife as well (Fourth Street Live).... email me.

In your defense, all of the surrounding counties around Louisville (Bullitt, Oldham, Spencer, etc (I think I'm missing a couple)), are either dry or 'moist' (drinks in restaurants etc...). Maybe that's what you were thinking.
I think I need a beer.... LOL!

Greetings.
I have just returned home from my trip to your fair state. I had a GREAT time! Let me first say that Ky is beautiful to drive through, it was a nice weekend and the fall leaves looked wonderful.
I stayed close to Louisville, or as I soon found out... Lou-A-Vull, is how you say it. Cracker Barrel was good food and cute waitresses! I did eat at a drive in Sonic, that was way cool..none of those here in Pa.
I hit LouAVull on friday night at 4th Street Live, good music, good beer, good times!
EVERYONE I met was really nice and helpful, great people! I do love the accent, its great!
I bought beer in a gas station! too cool....we have to go to a Beer Distributor in Pa, kind of like a beer supermarket, not allowed to sell Alcohol in stores here.
I had a good time at my class. I was in it with some people from LaGrange FD, smart guys and very nice, so RP, you and your truck are in good hands where you live!
Ky is much like Pa. in that it is a Ford state, although I had to drive down in a Tahoe, F-150's were a plenty! I drove past the Super Duty plant as well which was cool. Only saw one KR though...i was dissappointed...I se 2 or 3 a day here in Pa. I saw two Lightnings both on I-70...
Conversion trucks, mostly Centurian F-250's are pretty popular, I saw a bunch of those down there.
In short, I had a great time in a great place. I hope I can make it down again next year!

I will be in Louisville the end of the month too, for the FFA Convention. Went last year too. Honestly, I think the town is pretty dull. Even McDonalds was closed by like 10:00. The one cool thing we found to do there is tour the Ford Explorer Assembly Plant. Thats it, unless you want to drive a while and visit the Jim Beam Distillery. In Houston you can drive around at 3am and find something to do.
Glad you had a good time while you were here...
TxCountry: Everyone has to get home around 10 so they can feed their horses so that we can earn enough money tilling the 'baccky' fields to buy shoes TX... geesh. Some people. You'd think that everyone in the country wears shoes or something.
