Die-cast car collecters??

Hey you guys,

This big die cast place opened up the road from me and their store is huge and filled with thousands of these cars.

I've never bought one before, so I don't know anything about them, but I have to ask:

What's the deal with the prices???
Are these prices normal, or is it because this place is a rip?

Cars are $50 all the way up to $700.

Check out this one - it's priced in US, hello, do people actually pay this?

I just want one of my truck, but no luck so far.
Of course they have the Z71 and the Dodge, but no frikkin Ford!!!

Check the price of this one out, it's crazy:

Habibi,

people do spend alot on those, because they think they will be worth alot. and the reason that one that you have the link for is so expensive because look at the name and the number on it..

EDIT:I like this one

the price reflects the quality and quantity made. my dad used to collect nascar tractor trailers. some have gone up and some went down in price. i would not buy them as an investment. just get the ones you like.
i would get one if it was the same as my f150 but i wont spend over $80

It just depends on what you want. I have a large collection but they are mostly purchased at Target or a toy store. They are all 1:18 scale street cars/trucks and cost $10-$25 a piece. I just collect them because I enjoy them. I have cars from Maesto, Hot Wheels, American Muscle, and others. Sometimes I aim a bit higher and get some of the $32 ones Sharper Image has because I can't find them elsewhere. The most expensive I have is $120 and is a replica of my truck from the Franklin Mint. Sure you can shop at a die-cast shop or hobby store but you're going to pay more.
