I picked up one from Sam's when I first bought my house. I think I gave $150 for it. It's a Whirlpool. I like it a lot.

I have two of the Ionic Breeze Quadra air cleaners. They work GREAT!!! Just pull the stainless panel out every couple weeks and wipe them off.
The Orek has filters that need replacing and doesn't work as well. I have one of those also. It has been retired since I purchased these. The Orek is also very loud.

I got a whirlpool simliar to tuffs. I hate those ionic-quattra-eazy-breezy jobs. WhY? They cannot circulate enough are to be truely effective. If you have a large/room house... you'll need a dozen of those stupid things to be effective! D'oh!

From a recent news article:
The federal government says air with above 50 mcg. particulate matter per cubic meter is unhealthy. We filled a room with over 100 mcg. of particulate matter and, with the help of expert Jim Anderson, tested four of the top brands:
- Sharper Image Ionic Breeze, $297: reduced particulate content from over 100 mcg. to 15 mcg.

- Honeywell's Enviracare HEPA Air Cleaner, $80: reduced particulate content from over 100 mcg. to 6 mcg.

- Harmony Ionizing HEPA Air Purifier, $69.95: reduced particulate content from over 100 mcg. to 6 mcg.

- Hamilton Beach True Air, $59.95: reduced particulate content from over 100 mcg. to 6 mcg.
Huh... imagine that... it doesn't work the best, and it's the most expensive! THanks Sharper IMage!

This place has some sweet stuff.. .your best bet is to blow the money and get a whole-house setup.
