Thought this was interesting, not at all what I expected.

Something very interesting about that link.
If you look at the complete ranking of all 50 States,

the top 25 (deadliest) are all a lock for Bush in the Nov election except Delaware.

The bottom 16 (safest) states are all a lock for Kerry.

What does this mean?

The Right can't drive.
If they can't drive they shouldn't be running the Country.

If Bush is the answer, run the question through spellcheck!

Huh... even with my 'Tan Terror' on the road, MI is still low on the list. I must be getting nicer in my old age...

Wow they must be on crack to have NY next to last on that list, especially considering that wretched hive of scum and villainy downstate (I beleive you might know it as NYC).

From the looks of that, its a LOT safer to fight over in Iraq and Afganistan than it is to drive in America. We need to protest all driving and bring this "truth" out about vehicles in america. Damn the Socialist.......

What with all the geezers and green-hosers on the road, I'm surprised Florida isn't higher on the list.

This is probably more related to seat belt usage than anything else. I doubt the ratings would be as they are if you simply did a study on where the most accidents happen.

The list is related to deaths. NJ may have low death numbers, but high claim rates, non-fatal accidents, theft, etc...

Exactly.

Tons of fender benders, tickets given out, etc. etc.

If Darwin wasn't banned from this state I'm sure things would be different.

It seems that the states with the lowest death rate are the ones that retirees move away from. The states with the highest death rates are the places they most often move to. This is not a coincidence.

Wyoming is high because of the per capita. Wyoming has less than a million full time inhabitants. But up to almost a million visitors on any givin day during the summer.
With secondary roads having a posted speed of 65 mph, and animals all over the roads and snow for 8 out of the 12 months, can see why they are #1.

I have been there 8 times and every crash I saw was some tourist mowin sage brush.

Sled...
