Just pour some lighter fluid on the remaining carpet, and drop a match on the way out the door.

That way it will be a BIG insurance claim

Thanks for the condolences folks. I appreciate it.

BREWDUDE:

You're right. I can't punish her for it now but, you can bet your **** that I'm going to find some of the 'anti-chew' spray. Sounds like a good investment at this point in time.

Unfortunately, the room where this happend is probably too small for tile and thus, I think the wife and I have decided to hardwood the entire area. It's a bummer but, something's gotta give at this point. Guess what my next weekend project is?

TUFF:

I still think it's the horizontal and vertical alignment with the moons of Jupiter or something. LOL! Thanks for the advice from an insurance perspective. I've ruled that out as an option.

RAOUL:

Dog = 45#
SHE is black/white/spotted.

RP the pooch does look a little evil in that pic! When I was in junior high school our dog got mad b/c we went away and my grandparents were watching him so the night we got back he ripped apart my backpack and ate all my notebooks and shredded three textbooks. He also used to eat shoes.

Hmm, this is odd.

Our golden lab has also been chewing up things and diggin holes. Tucker stays outside (although we have been letting him in once or twice a week) because he's just too hyper and he likes it outside anyway.

But lately he has started digging holes around the deck and the fence, he tore up the plastic cover for the patio chairs, and once that was gone he started chewing on the actual chairs...

Whats odd is that we've had him here at this house since the 6th (when we moved in), and he stayed my friends house before that for several weeks and these problems never happened...

Odd

I noticed that the moon was pretty full on the flight in from Minn/St. Paul this evening... very odd.

Hey RP..get the fake hardwood panels. Pergo makes it and so does Shaw, and im sure a few others also. It looks great, lasts long and is EASY to install and take care of. No glueing or nailing pieces together or any of that crap. And best of all no sanding and refinishing year after year. I jusat did my family room. Its 13'x33' it went down easy, did it all myself and took me about 2 days to do it. I can send or post pics if you want. Let me know.

Do you have a pooch? I've considered doing this but, I'm worried about the durability (dog claws and scratches). Any insight?

I think we're probably just going to replace the carpet and, unfortunately, because the carpet going up the steps is the same stuff, we'll probably have to replace it too.

I was thinking about the Pergo in the kitchen. I've heard that stuff is ULTRA-CAKE to lay.

yup I have 2, one litte ankle bitter and this guy here

I have no problems with scratching. He runs around with his toys and all. I've had company all summer and everyone had a dog. My brother has my dogs brother(did that come out right?) anyway they were both here together for a week and the floor held up great. I love the stuff. Theres even one that looks like real tile. I put this in my kitchen 2 years ago and it still loks like the day I put it in. Just so you know, I used the Shaw products. Got them at home Depot.WHat ever you do, dont get the pergo that you glue together. Its a PITA to lay and doesnt hold up that well. We did my brothers house a few years ago and its starting to split at the seams where it was glued together. Get the stuff that locks together no glue or nails. Its great.
