Terrorist bid to build bombs in mid-flight

Makes you wonder when we are going to stop worring about offending some people and start doing what should be already done. I know I am driving wherever I have to go, I dont care how much gas I go through.

I read this story before, nothing happened. As far as I can tell, she was being paranoid.

With all due respect there is a HUGE difference between being paranoid and being observant. If this story is true, and it appears so since it’s in a Wall Street publication then this women was being observant.

Geez! At what point do you get off your *** and do something? I'll be damned if I depend on a flight attendant to save my life.

not only that, she acted on it and alerted flight staff.

I think after 9/11, people have a different outlook. I am sure many people feel that "heck, I'm gonna die anyway when they crash the plane that I might as well beat the ***** out of some terrorists before I die"

Yep. As more people become observant and vigilant, the likelihood of the same style of attack diminishes.

I'm sure terrorists go out of their way to be blatantly obvious.

Being observant is a good thing. In this case nothing happened, there is no proof that anything was happening or that this was a dry run. That doesn't mean it should be ignored, but creating paranoia isn't much better than ignorance. How did this woman know they had one-way tickets? Did the FBI call her back? If so, what did they say about the men? Do you really think this woman was more on top of the situation than the air marshalls? How did the flight attendant know there were marshalls on the plane, they are not supposed to. I hope that from now on, everyone is more observant, but let's not over-react.

It's easy to tell if there are Air Marshalls. Here's a check list: There are wearing a suit...most flyers dress down now. They check in early and have to show there credentials when they go through security otherwise they will get arrested for carring a gun in the security area (yes they do this). They don't take off their jackets. The flight crew has to know if there is an Air Marshall on board, all weapons are delared to the crew. The flight attendants might not know but the piolets do. The Air Marshalls give pre flight security briefings to the air crews.

No S*&^! I thought it was supposed to be a secret to the crew. Well, let's hope that the false alarms continue, and let's keep alert!

Just because nothing happen does not mean what this woman wrote about is not good information for the rest of us. It is good to pass on this ODD behavior by a few morons looking to get shot or their *** beat in mid-air.

Trust me, if this actually happen and I do believe it did then these 8 – 15 morons are extremely lucky they didn’t get beat down like a 3-legged handicapped dog.

The portrayed very odd behavior any way you look at it and as was mentioned after 911 EVERYTHING changed. If I was in the aircraft my first thought would have been ”CHIT I just might die today because it appears we have some terrorist on board” I would try to get some people surrounding me to help kick the CHIT out of as many as possible.

I mean if you “truly” believe you may die then survival instincts take over and you might as well die beating the crap out of “would-be” terrorist rather then sit there wishing upon a magical star…

If I am sitting in a plane and even hear someone whisper the word “hijack” and the person that said it looks suspicious to me then they are in for a major crate of whoop *** and they will be one hurting individual when the plane lands safely, hopefully a few more people would jump in and help kick the chit out of them.

It’s a win-win situation. If the person was an actual terrorist then their plans would have been foiled. If they were not a terrorist then they and the public would have learned a valuable lesson in life which is you have “freedom of speech” but you better be careful where and who you practice it around because you could end up looking like a beat 3-legged handicapped dog…

Burt, I think this is the key right here "The portrayed very odd behavior " Obviously I am not for any Americans getting killed and would gladly beat a terrorist to death with whatever I had, but when you get scared, sometimes you see things that aren't there. I can guarantee if these guys were English, she would not have noticed them looking at each other or the MacDonalds bag.

I'm with most of you here, and would have no problem at all jumping on these guys if necessary. I have a friend that's a Delta pilot, and I've talked to him about what he'd do if he had terrorists on board. He told me that he'd put that 757 through some flight manuvers that would make anybody that was not belted-in no longer able to walk for months. He would make the plane dive, bank and dive again so that these guys would be plastered against the ceiling, then the floor, then the walls. Everybody would wet their pants, but nobody unbelted would be without broken body parts. I'm sure my buddie isn't the only pilot out there that knows how to do this.

Maybe the guys in the article were terrorists, and maybe they weren't...who knows? Maybe it's the first time any of them saw flush toilets.

The article said they were Arabs, not French.
