"Girlie-Men" in Californya
Hey racerx,
Watch out for that African American comment.
I have an African-American friend.
He's white, born in S. Africa, immigrated to the USA and became an American citizen. I think he's a nice guy. However, when he applied for an educational grant he checked the African-American box and they gave it to him. When he went to pick up his check. The black lady clerk said "You're not an African-American, you're white and you don't get this check. I'm an African-American." He explained his immigration story and even showed his birth certificate. She still denied him. He asked when the last time she was in Africa and she replied, "Never but that don't mean anything."
Well he hired an attorney (ACLU wouldn't touch it), got his money and she no longer works there.
They since have changed the forms to read "Black" next to the box.

Great story. Kind of goes with my point. Certain people made such a stink about calling people black, white, green what have you… so they came up with all these cleaver names, like native American, Caucasian, African American, I like Other myself. But that didn’t work so were back to using colors again?
So in your story your friend applied for a grant listed for African Americans which he was and they weren’t going to give it to him because, although met the requirement, he was white. Man, what a wonderful world we live in.

I can't believe people actually took offense to what Arnold said. It was a joke, c'mon people lighten up. It wasn't a racial slur or gay bashing, it wasn't an ignorant insult. It is called HUMOR. Some people need to get a sense of that.
