dzervit,

The site http://www.gotapex.com/deals.php just shows you different deals. When you click on their deals it takes you directly to Dell's site. Slickdeals and fatwallet do the same. Check out this site too http://www.fatwallet.com/

On GotApex look at Saturday's deal for the computer that you want.

http://configure.us.dell.com/dellsto...dim46min&s=bsd

* Scroll to the bottom and click on Add to cart
* Finish checking out. Ground shipping for the computer is free. Expires 7/5/04

There are deals on these sites that you do not see on Dell's site. I have had a Dell Dimension 4550 for almost two years and I love it!

I ordered it with 256 Meg of ram and then bought 512 M of ram through http://www.crucial.com/ for about half of what Dell wanted as an upgrade. I would buy as much memory as you can.

well clearly you didn't actually look at the site becuase they don't sell Dells. In fact, no one sells Dells except for Dell and maybe Costso (I heard they are starting now). GotApex just lists deals and rebates and puts in all in one place for situations like this. Otherwise people get ripped off by paying full list price. As mentioned above, fatwallet and slcik deals do similar things. I think GotApex does it the best for Dell deals, but in the end it doesn't matter where you get your info as long as you get the right product for the right price.

Bartak,

that link that BlueFlareside posted seems like a pretty good deal.
im not sure if u decided what to do yet but something like that is probably ur best bet. jus dont get the integrated graphics lol.
adding ram will help but its not going to make it seem like a new computer. and if ur computer is infected with adware or spyware u can run programs that will help get rid of them. i use spybot, but i know there are better free programs out there. these two will help your computer but if u are having problems like programs loading way too slow or having poor gameplay, then a new computer is prolly ur best option. another way to get rid of all the spyware is to reformat your hard drive. software is pretty easy to install so if u have all the cd's for windows and all the programs on your computer then that might be something to try.
