Did we invade the wrong country is the wrong question. It should be "Do we need to invade MORE countries?" or "Should we nuke the entire middle east?"

Perhaps you should look at all of the evidence so far which indicates pretty clearly that Saudi Arabia is the real source of Al Queda training and funding and not Iraq.

Don't confuse why we invaded Iraq. The primary wasn't to eliminate the source of Al Queda, but to wipe out Saddam (he's evil) and squash them before they try to pull something again (like invaid somebody else).

We should definitely nuke the Middle East. Who needs oil after all? It's not like the US ever wants to sell products anywhere else in the world ever again. It's not like muslim fundamentalists from Indonesia would launch attacks against the US. It's not like US citizens who had family in the Middle East would turn around and start blowing things up.

Maybe we should just invade Saudi Arabia. We have a nice big country called Iraq to use for staging our troops after all. Then we could occupy Iraq, Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia. We've certainly got enough troops for that right? It's not as if we maybe should have picked a real target instead of avenging our fathers little embarrassing foray into Iraq a decade earlier right?

You can't attack everyone. You wear down your army, you lower morale in your troops and at home, you wreck your economy, etc. You've heard the expression "you need to pick your battles?" Well this is a perfect example. Saudi Arabia has always had far closer ties to Al Qaeda than Iraq but we invaded Iraq. Why? Because we invaded Iraq, now we can't invade Saudi Arabia. Seems pretty stupid in retrospect.

For those of you with the attention span of a gnat (read: most of the American public) the real goal here was to keep the US safe. Well the biggest threat to the US was and still is Al Qaeda. As such, one has to wonder why we invaded Iraq (which doesn't seem to have any WMD's and doesn't seem to have any ties to Al Qaeda) and not Saudi Arabia (which does have strong ties to Al Qaeda).

And for those who have forgotten: we still haven't bloody well captured Bin Laden.

Perhaps you should have your own opinion, and I should have mine. Imagine what that would be like.

If we need a win, can't we just attack Canada?

Come on, it would be like a Homecoming game.

How can I not be confused? First we were invading Iraq because he had Weapons of Mass Destruction. Ooops! It seems he didn't have any WMD's and the reports we based this decision on appear to have been fabricated and manipulated to give us an excuse.

Then we were invading because Iraq had ties to Al Qaeda. Did you miss this the news? Did you miss the press conferences in which Iraq's "strong ties to Al Qaeda" were being given as a reason for the invasion? Only, ooops! Now it seems as if the sum total of Iraqi involvement with Al Qaeda was Al Qaeda asking for a place to train and money and Hussein never responding to them.

Do you want to remind me again how Iraq was a clear and present danger to the US? To Kuwait maybe. But to the US? They had no WMD's and the reports indicate he wasn't helping Al Qaeda. Do you mind explaining to me why this war couldn't wait until we got done with Afghanistan? Do you mind telling me why we didn't deal with North Korea or Saudi Arabia first?

sirket-

Who pissed in your cereal this morning? Damn!

You do realize that the people who make the decisions on when and where to use our servicemen/women, have access to intel that is greater than that of CNN or your local newspaper, right?

I can't stand people like you that think you are the end all/cure all for everything.

This post is dead to me.

Once again our liberal media is helping the terrorist.
They make it look as if the entire Saudi military is with the terrorist. Sure, they have infiltrated the Saudi military, they also infiltrated our military, remember when that nut tossed that granade in that tent in Kuwait. That is their tactic, to infiltrate any area they can do the most damage, and make it look like everyone is against the USA and the west.
Funny how it is being reported that all Saudi's are against America when it was a few that took action against us.
Just more one sided reporting that aides the terrorist by trying to show that even our allies hate us.

But I agree with dzervit, just nuke all their a$$es.

I also realize that the people who make these decisions are politically motivated. You seem to be under the delusion that 99% of all politicians aren't crooked. Worse you may be one of those loons who believe that only the Democrats or only the Republicans are honest. Newsflash, they're all crooked. Try demanding some accountability from them.

I can't stand people like you that think you are the end all/cure all for everything.
I just want facts and answers. As a citizen of the United States it is my RIGHT and my DUTY to demand accountability from my leaders. I am not sure in what country you were born but if you want to just accept whatever line is spoon fed to you by your government without ever questioning them then perhaps Democracy isn't for you. You may want to try a dictatorship so you don't have to do any thinking.

I do have my own opinion and you do have yours. Where is the problem. I'm happy to defend my opinion, but you seem reluctant.

Just to get a feel for how you really mean this. Should Clinton have been impeached?
