Algore didn’t invent the Internet???
I thought Algore invented the Internet.
Good thing he wasn’t a liberal like Algore ”never had succeeded if he had charged money for his inventions”…
I think this guy is on to something…
Oh no so Algore did have a part in the “invention”?
Cool, now we know for sure that Algore did NOT invent the Internet, at least he is not the father of the WWW perhaps a step-child…
Full story here – Algore did NOT invent the Internet
“HELSINKI, Finland - Tim Berners-Lee, who received a $1.2 million cash prize Tuesday for creating the World Wide Web, says he would never have succeeded if he had charged money for his inventions.”
"If I had tried to demand fees ... there would be no World Wide Web,"
"Building the Web, I didn't do it all myself," he said.
Pekka Tarjanne, chairman of the prize committee, said "no one doubts who the father of the World Wide Web is, except Berners-Lee himself."

The Right got a lot of mileage out of that one back in 2000.
Playing loose with the facts won't pass the test when you are the incumbent.
What Gore really said was while he was in Congress he championed intiatives in the creation of the Internet.
The Right quickly shortened it to, "Al Gore says he created internet."
Anyone with any sense knows that a sitting vice-president trying to win the Democratic nomination who doesn't know how to boot a laptop is not going to say, "I invented the internet".
But you have got to give the Republican Machine credit.
Half the people in the US were convinced not only that is what he said but, that is what he meant.
Like I said, it's gonna be harder to play those games when you are looking out of the White House window.

Amazing. 4 years later and you are still on this story.
Al Gore only said he was influential in creating the Internet, not that he created it. What he was referring to was his push during his time as a Senator to provide more funding for ARPANet which was the predecessor to today's Internet. Without ARPANet there would be no Internet.
And just to be clear, Tim Berners-Lee developed the protocol behind the World Wide Web not the Internet. The Internet is comprised of a myriad of protocols that run on top of TCP/IP of which HTTP (the WWW protocol) is but one. You also have SMTP (email), VOIP (Internet Telephone), ftp and hundreds of other protocols.

you want fries with that?
So would you say that Dean did scream in that rally of his or that he didn’t really scream? Dean tells us he didn’t “really” scream but rather that is the perception the media has and the public, all of which are wrong, of course in Dean’s opinion…
Let’s see, there is Algore who may have or may have not invented the Internet. Then there is Kerry who voted for the $87 billion before he voted against the $87 billion, and now Dean telling everyone what they actually witnessed on video is an illusion in their mind because he never “really” screamed…
I am seeing a pattern here, hummmm all liberals, and rather then having clear visions they seem to have illusions of reality…
Them rascally liberals sure are fun to watch like the Three Stooges, Moe (Algore) Larry (Kerry) and Curly (Dean)…

CNN'S WOLF BLITZER: I want to get to some of the substance of domestic and international issues in a minute, but let's just wrap up a little bit of the politics right now.
Why should Democrats, looking at the Democratic nomination process, support you instead of Bill Bradley, a friend of yours, a former colleague in the Senate? What do you have to bring to this that he doesn't necessarily bring to this process?
AL GORE: Well, I'll be offering my vision when my campaign begins. And it will be comprehensive and sweeping. And I hope that it will be compelling enough to draw people toward it. I feel that it will be.
But it will emerge from my dialogue with the American people. I've traveled to every part of this country during the last six years. During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet. I took the initiative in moving forward a whole range of initiatives that have proven to be important to our country's economic growth and environmental protection, improvements in our educational system.
During a quarter century of public service, including most of it long before I came into my current job, I have worked to try to improve the quality of life in our country and in our world. And what I've seen during that experience is an emerging future that's very exciting, about which I'm very optimistic, and toward which I want to lead.

Is creating the same as inventing?
Sigh.......
ok let's do them in order, we have already addressed the Internet.
There was more than one vote held on the 87 Billion.
Dean did not scream.
(he did scream but he did not scream)
There were multiple recordings of the event.
The recording everyone heard ad nauseum was from the mike in front of Dean with other noise dubbed.
In fact, there were 200 hundred noisy people in the room and in recordings from other mikes it was plain that Dean was trying to be heard over the crowd. Most of what he says is barely audible.
Someone thought that the tape from that one mike with Deans voice in islolation would have political significance and boy, were they right. It helped destroy him.

Hey Raoul my fries aren't cold are they?
"During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet."
I tried not to get wires all over the congressional floor and trip my colleagues. They asked all the time what I was doing and I said I was inventing the internet.
They said why don't you just push forward legislation that will give the internet it's start, it's birth.
But I wanted my activity to remain vague enough that the Republicans could make hay of it in 2000 and cost me the Presidency.

Slow day for the hate machine 01? You know well that Gore never said he invented the internet. You can do much better. Funny how outright lies by Bush (and I will use his proper name, not some slang immature nick name) are OK with you, but this fabricated BS keeps coming up from the right. Truly sad.
