Question garage floor coating

i am interested in coating my garage floor. i saw an add for this stuff called U-Coat it. seems like it has alot of steps and is kind of expensive ($250). i saw a commercial for some floor coating from Rustoleum the other day.

? anybody use U-Coat it?
? how did it work?
? tough to apply?

Check this website out: Muscle Gloss

Also, Rustoleum makes a good one. Epoxy Shield

I used the rustoleum kit and have had very good results. I has been 3 years now and I have minor bubbling in two areas. This is most likely from missing a spot on the prep.

The key is the prep. Whatever you end up using make sure its a two-part apoxy. The are a bunch on the market that claim to be an apoxy but are not. You should have to mix in a hardener.

Good luck....you will love the results.

I think that no matter what you go with the biggest thing is the "floor prep". I was looking into doing this after reading about Griots Garage's garage paint and did a google on garage paint. It turned out that their are 2 main types of paint...epoxy based and .....Heh! I can't remember the other. But in both cases it turned out that the most important step was preparing the floor (IE: getting all the oil, dirt, etc off first).

When I build my house I want to have the adjoining wall portion of the garage to be all glass so you can see into it from the house (i.e. say it's next to the kitchen).

The garage floor will be a wood floor, coated with some intense plastic/polymer coating substance stuff so that regardless of wet, or oil . . it would just spray right off with a hose.

It would look so cool.

Not that anyone cares, but I thought I'd share.

K, You are beginning to worry me. You built a glass wall so you can see into your garage from your kitchen? Most people are content with watching birds in the feeder, looking out over their backyard landscape or lake, but not you. You want to have your coffee and Wheaties while checking out the truck, car, and lawn equipment.

You must have a different garage than I do, this would be my view from the Kitchen if the wall was glass between the garage and the house>

Is that Austin Healy a 4 cyl or a 6? Can't tell too well from the pic.
Nice choice of hobby car if I may say so.

Rich folks in South Florida, carpet their garage floor.
I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it.

(apparently, cars over $50,000 never leak nuthin)

Sorry Bill, been gone for a week or so.

Yeah, I like bikes, have several more not pictured.
That's a Healey, the last of the big healeys. 6 Cyl. 1967. Only about 2300 made after that one, then the factory shutdown.

I used Behr. I think this was it...

I also prepared the service with the degreaser, etcher and primer.

It would be cool to paint the garage floor then apply like 10 coats of Zaino…

That way not only could I stare at the truck I could stare at the drive shaft, oil pan, shocks, fuel tank and everything else under there…

What the hell is that cat fur doing up there?

2'X2' carpet tiles in mine. Looks pretty good. I also like the epoxy floors but can't leave the rides out overnight.
