holy crap, that was awesome. never knew an F16 was that slow on the ground. now had the F16 been airborne I'm thinking the outcome would be totally different.

I have seen several test like that, they all have the same outcome, the car will win the 1/4 but gets beat by the 1/2. In the case of a turbine engine they do not spool up nearly as fast as a car engine will, so they take longer to start accelerating but once they do look out. Also I noted several things that would have helped the jet win by a larger margin. The announcer stated that the acft had a full load of fuel, and I saw that it also had the external wing tanks mounted. This adds several tons to the weight of the acft. I also noticed that the acft started from idle. If the pilot would have locked the brakes and throttled up before the start of the race he would not have given up near as much ground. Even though the outcomes neverchange I still like to see these races.

Pretty impressive for a car that gets beat in the ¼ mile by an electric proto type car…


I seen something on TV last weekend it was a prototype of an electric car that had some serious torque. They raced it against a Viper and it ate the Viper up…
