Does It Ever Stup?
Does It Ever Stup?
Maybe I'm just upset because after July 5th, I can't smoke in a bar anymore, but can marry my homosexuel partner, but this is really insane.
A civil rights ruling in New Jersey could put an end to "Ladies' Night" celebrations at bars and clubs.
The traditional bar-owners' plan: to let ladies in free and let them pay less for drinks could be in jeaopordy.
Jeff Spear, the Regional Manager for the Bum Steer bar in Tucson explains raditionally the logic has been - if women go drink, men will follow.
Spear's customers know it, too.
"Without ladies being there, where would the guys go to meet girls?" one girl asked.
Her boyfriend added, "the drinks are cheaper and girls could just go buy you drinks for cheap!"
At this point, ladies nights are not illegal in Arizona. Even so, some bars hold them in name only.
Spear said, "To just give discounts to the ladies anymore, and not to the guys, is kind of, walking a thin line.
"Sometimes you might market the night as ladies night, you might do strawberry daiquiris or something like that that you know men aren't gonna partake of a lot."
Ladies night could get a "last call" in New Jersey - a bar customer there protests that they're discriminatory.
But here in Arizona we found no such patrons. Ladies nights lovers fear losing an event many hold dear.
Another customer added, "I think it's nice that someone's finally sticking up for guys and our equal rights but they're picking the wrong battle."

people will whine about anything these days! I read a few articles on this and I couldn't believe it. How stupid! where will it end?? No more kids eat free because it is un-fair to older people! Or maybe we should start complaining about senior citizen discounts because it is unfair to everyone under 65. Or a free piece of cake for someone having a birthday in a restaurant!! Whine...I want a free piece of cake because it is NOT my birthday!!...Whine that's so unfair! Blah blah blah.
It's a bar it is a private business they can offer what ever they want within the law. Don't go there if you don't like the fact that they have ladies night!! Moron! If there is no more ladies night then bars/clubs shouldn't be allowed to choose who they let in because it discriminates against ugly people.
there is no end in sight!
